I have been staying at this hotel every 2 years for the last 10 years and I have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and functional and the beds very comfortable.
I love sitting in the outoor area.
The location is perfect, 10 mins walk from the ferry port and a short walk from the beach. There are many options for food nearby and also a Sainsbury 5 mins away. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel.
The breakfast is excellent.
I totally recommend this hotel and I look forward to my next stay!

I highly recommend staying at this hotel . Friendly, very helpful staff ,. The room was spotlessly clean . And only very short distance from.the beach and all the amenities . I shall be going back

This place is anything but Royal. The pictures are a lie. The floor in our room was on a slant. The disgustingly filthy carpet covered a patchwork floor. The windows only opened about 2" and no AC. There was a fan that was covered in years of dust and grime and barely blew any air. I asked for another one. I got one that was 10" in diameter and was also filthy but not as bad. I cleaned it as best I could and it blew a bit better than the other one. The bathroom was 2 rooms that were 2' x 4'. One was the sink and toilet. The other was the 2' x 2' shower with a 2' x 2' area to stand and dry. It says there is an elevator but it does not go to every floor. It only goes to full floors. Not 1/2 floors which are every other floor. If you have any mobility issues you are in trouble. You always have to walk up or down 1 or 2 flights of stairs. The on-sight parking is actually off-site around the corner. There may be some rooms that have been renovated and the pictures lead you to believe this. However, all rooms in our section were the same. Just plain disgusting and small. The day we checked out my husband wound up in hospital with a bacterial infection. He is still there with severe health problems. This is the only place we had been. Don't go here. There are far more beautiful places on The Isle of Wight.

Had a good time. Breakfast was included, wasn't the best breakfast but can't complain. Staff was helpful and really nice. Room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable, could have slept there all day!!

The staff are friendly and the hotel is very centrally located for the town centre, beaches and the Hovercraft. However, some rooms are better than others. Our party of two was allocated one room which was fine but one which did not have a shower- it had a shower head on the bath but no curtain or screen so you couldn’t use it as a stand up shower. So, I’d ask to see my room before committing to pay. Also, if you’re driving, call the hotel to book parking in advance if you want to park in their car park. There are other parking options nearby too.

There is a good restaurant and bar

Excellent location for those without a car. Situated alongside the Ryde public transport hub which includes train, bus & hovercraft options. A once very elegant hotel now perhaps a little tired but still full of charm. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was beautifully cooked traditional English fare.
