Wow! What a beautiful property! Totally restored, early 20th Century (my guess) hotel. Close to the main railroad station, but well away from pedestrian and street traffic. Easy walking to the harbor and all of the major tourist attractions in Helsinki, as well as to the major shopping promenade. Plenty of restaurant options within a five to ten minute walk. What makes this property especially wonderful is the size of the rooms (largest we've ever had in Europe), and the perfect decor. We would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Helsinki for any reason. Once you get off the elevator and start walking down the corridor to your room, you'll understand why we're so enthusiastic.

Large hotel in a great location next to the train station. Feels very 1920s - rooms large and nicely decorated and clean - good atmosphere. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was great. Gym was nicer than many hotel gyms.

A practical choice, but very commercial - every interaction with staff involved upselling (€20 if I wanted to check in early, “I can do you a deal” to upgrade the room, €20 to check out late). Not the staff’s fault, it’s clearly a company policy, but did not feel at all welcoming - it was clearly you are a customer, not a guest.

We loved the hotel, the location was great, the room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable, very nice bathroom too, we enjoyed our stay and we will come back again.

A historic building converted into a hotel. A great location directly next to the train station which provides easy access to the city and a few minute walk to market square. My room was modern, comfortable and I liked the bed too. My only disappointments were the lack of signage directing guests to the ramp which I s located to the left of the main entrance and the breakfast. The breakfast looks appealing but it consists of strange combinations of salads and breakfast foods. The buffet needs more fruits and some yogurt.

We consider and experienced that staying at Scandic Grand Central Hotel one of the best places. The staff were pleasant and amazingly able to speak and understand our English language. The room was beautiful decorated in modern style eventho the buildings is over 100 years old.

A well-located, central hotel with excellent access to the train station. While the stay was good, a few small improvements would make a big difference: providing complimentary tea or coffee in the room, offering a water refill station, and having the staff provide a bit more helpful information at check-in.
