Hotel Vík í Mýrdal

We loved staying here on our way to the diamond beach.

Was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a superior room and we would definitely book it again. The room is cozily furnished, spacious, and had a large bathroom. The bedding is comfortable and the toiletries were from L’Occitane. We enjoyed a view of the town but I think a view of the mountains is also available. Breakfast had great variety and plenty of vegetarian options. The hotel is also located some distance from the main road so it’s more secluded and private.

Best hotel I stayed at in Iceland! Staff is amazing, drinks are as well. Love that there are 2 lobby areas to relax in. The staff upgraded our stay to a family room instead of the triple at check in at no charge. They said it was because if they have spaces that are better that aren’t booked- they upgrade their guests so the nicer rooms don’t go to waste. What a concept! Customer service and client care! The US would never. Family room was gorgeous and spacious! And don’t get me started about the breakfast. Best continental hotel breakfast- so many selections (hot and cold options). Fancy pastries and even a slew of vegan foods. I wish I could have stayed much longer than one night.

Nice room, excellent breakfast and great location!

The staff was amazing. We had booked early activities both mornings and asked the staff if they could open breakfast early for us. Although they couldn’t, they offered to make us to-go breakfast boxes which was so helpful! They were so nice. The online checkin was easy and everything was smooth. Parking was easy and free. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the hotel was clean and well-kept (as was the room), the restaurant was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my time at Hotel Vik. I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Iceland!

This hotel was very nice. Check-in was super easy and the desk personnel were friendly. I really liked that they would do a wake up call for the northern lights if one of the staff members saw that they were out they would call people and wake them up. We did get to see the northern lights from the church up on the hill on the night we stayed at this hotel so it made it super special. Our room was comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Besides the cleanliness and location, I like the smooth check-in and out process which is all done right before the 4PM that arrived electronically assigned room number and the access code. Assignment was based on my preferences. Also the breakfast was rich.
