Review: The Sentra Hotel – A Convenient Haven for Recovery After being hospitalized for five days at Sentra Medika International Hospital Minut, I had the opportunity to stay at The Sentra Hotel, located within the same complex. This proximity is invaluable for patients like myself who require ongoing care. I am currently on my second day here and felt compelled to write this review while still experiencing the comfort and hospitality of the property. I have even extended my stay for an additional night, as the environment has been exceptionally restful and conducive to recovery. As a breast cancer survivor managing multiple health conditions, I deeply appreciate the convenience of having quality accommodations so close to both inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities. The quiet atmosphere, attentive service, and comfortable amenities have allowed me to rest and recharge before resuming my medical treatments. For anyone seeking a comfortable and supportive environment during a period of recovery, The Sentra Hotel offers both comfort and peace of mind.

The service is very satisfying and the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is good, especially for those who bring children because there is a children's play area and there is also a swimming pool for children.

It's terrible! The noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are completely soundproof. The noise in the corridors was unbearable from morning until night. The noise from neighboring rooms was also audible. We stayed on the 5th floor, directly above us in a ballroom that held events until 11 PM. The noise from footsteps and music could be heard in our room. After complaining repeatedly over the phone, we were finally able to sleep at 12 AM. But what was worse was that at 2 AM, we were woken up because the hotel was cleaning the ballroom area at that hour, rearranging chairs, making noise from machines, trolleys, etc. It was truly disrespectful to guests who were resting and had paid dearly. I complained over the phone to the receptionist, but the cleaning activity continued until 4 AM. It was so noisy, that I had to go down to the receptionist to ask her to listen to all the video recordings containing the noises heard in our room. The staff at the reception said that there was indeed a cleaning activity that started at 2 AM and would convey our complaint to the manager, but until we checked out there was no apology. Seriously... we just found out there are already many reviews about this. The hotel should be aware of this and fix it. We were fooled by the high reviews, considering it's a 4-star hotel and quite expensive. But it's very disrespectful to your guest, and we couldn't have a rest for the whole three days because of all that noise. Please, for a 4-star hotel, other guests pay to host an event and stay there, but please ensure that other paying guests are not disturbed and can rest well at night.

I've booked here several times even though I'm in Manado for work. I've tried all the hotels, and this one is the most perfect for me. Every month I definitely book here, why?: breakfast.. super perfect.. Hotel comfort, etc., definitely on par with other star-rated hotels.. but nothing can beat The Sentra's breakfast.. For the month of August, I stayed here for a total of 12 days.. My favorite: Cakalang noodles and yellow rice, especially with the incredibly delicious and spicy coto sauce.. It's a shame that at the end of the month, the typical Manadonese yellow noodles were replaced with egg noodles.. I really felt the difference.. I know the reason, because previously the yellow noodles were a bit hard, maybe that's why they were replaced with egg noodles the next day.. Honestly, the hard yellow noodles are still much tastier than egg noodles.. The taste is so different.. Even the yellow rice doesn't have the beef stew.. just the cakalang floss.. Hopefully when I come back again In September, the food was perfect again as before... but what is certain is that the food here is guaranteed to be much tastier and more varied than the food in other star hotels.

For a 4-star hotel: 1. I was a bit disappointed with the service, because when I asked for a towel to take a shower, it took a long time, about 25 minutes, for the towel to be brought to the room. That was because I had called 3 times. 2. The food at breakfast was not much, not varied enough and the menu was ordinary, nothing special. But the yellow rice was delicious. 3. The receptionist could really use some training in hospitality. Check-in time was at 2 PM, but I arrived close to 4 PM and the room still wasn’t ready. I had to wait for 15 minutes. The receptionist—I didn’t catch his name—was not welcoming at all. He didn’t smile, didn’t greet us, and gave me a look as if I was an intruder rather than a guest. And to be clear, I didn’t book the cheapest standard room—I booked a suite. I can’t imagine how they treat guests staying in standard rooms if this is how they treat suite guests. As the front liner, he should’ve known that hospitality is key in this line of work, but not a single smile was offered as basic courtesy. Another thing: the room’s overall concept felt off. The bedroom had a modern vibe, but the bathroom looked like it was from a 1990s apartment. The shower wasn’t adjustable, unlike what I usually find in 4-star hotels, and the bathroom facilities felt more like something from an OYO hotel. The breakfast selection was inconsistent. On the first day, the buffet had a decent variety of chicken and fish, which I assumed was because there was an event at the hotel and many guests were staying. But on the second day, the breakfast was unappealing, with very few options—mostly gorengan. I had no complaints about the taste, but I wasn’t a fan of the menu variety. Also, on the first day, I was charged for my kid’s breakfast, but on the second day, it was free. I’m not sure why there was such inconsistency. This was my first time staying here, and I don’t see myself coming back in the future.
