About

Seremban Jaya is a modern township and a sub-district or “mukim” located in the state of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It is approximately 5 kilometres away from state capital, Seremban, being administered under the Seremban Municipal Council. A lot of commercial shops and shopping malls are built here in close proximities to each other. In addition to that, Seremban Jaya is close to other populated areas such as Senawang, Rasah, Mambau and Paroi which are just a stone’s throw away that are definitely be worthy of a visit. Together with Seremban, it was known as Sungai Ujong in its early days and are like other major towns in the country, are open and experiencing rapid development back then due to the discovery of tin and the explosion of tin mining in the 1870s. Consequently, the town boomed due to its reputation as a recognized trade center where Arab, Malay and Chinese settlers would come here to trade their goods. Nowadays, it is a major stopping point between the capital Kuala Lumpur and the southern parts of the country and slowly becoming a satellite town of Kuala Lumpur, with a lot more people settling here while working in Kuala Lumpur. As such, Seremban Jaya too has enjoyed the influx of people which drives its economy even further.

How to Get There

By Car

People driving from Kuala Lumpur may drive through the North-South Expressway (PLUS) exiting at Senawang before continuing the journey towards Seremban Jaya. The journey could take up around forty five minutes to one hour depending on the current traffic situation.

By Train

From Kuala Lumpur International Airport, visitors can catch the Express Rail Link (ERL) train which goes to KL Sentral/Bandar Tasik Putrajaya/Cyberjaya/Salak Tinggi/KLIA route. There, one can board the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) southbound coach and stop by the Seremban station before opting for public transportation to go around the area.

By Bus

The nearest express bus terminal is located at Terminal One, Seremban. Take the trip directly to Seremban from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) terminal using express bus services such as Sanwa Tours, KPB Express and Kesatuan Express. From here, hop on a local route bus to Seremban Jaya.

Jelita Ostrich Farm

Probably the only one of its kind here, Jelita Ostrich Farm provides a special opportunity for visitors to be able to observe the flocks of ostriches up close as well as other animals in the farm like goats, horses, geese, ducks and even turkeys. The ostriches in the farm are majorly tamed and can be taken for a ride with an experienced ostrich jockey. There are also a restaurant nearby where visitors can try some of the ostrich food products.

Royal Gallery Tuanku Ja’afar

Royal Gallery Tuanku Ja’afar is a gallery that houses and displays the private collections, history and milestones of the life of Tuanku Ja’afar, the former Yang di-Pertuan Besar of the state, thus providing insights into the Negeri Sembilan Royal family. The gallery initiated its early construction works in 2012 and finished a year later. It was then officiated by Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Najihah in 2014. The building has a modern colonial architecture, being housed in a three-story building of 4087 square meters big comprising of nine exhibition halls. It is open daily to public from 10 am to 5 pm except Mondays and a fee of thirty ringgit is charged.

Church of The Visitation

The church is located at Jalan Yam Tuan which is in the middle of the Seremban city. Its history can be traced all the way back to 1848 when Fr Pierre Henri Borie was sent by Bishop John Baptist Boucho in a mission to work with the local people and expanding the thriving albeit smaller Catholic community. The architecture is unique and maintaining the design from the old days.
