Merang which is often confused by another place called Marang is located in a district called Setiu. It is 25 kilometer north from Kuala Terengganu town which is the capital of Terengganu state, Malaysia. Merang is traditionally a fishing village and hence seafood is one of the attractions of the town. How to Get There
By Plane
One can take a local flight such as AirAsia or Malaysia Airlines and Firefly and fly to Kuala Terengganu. There will be plenty of taxis waiting outside the airport to get the visitors to their hotels. The journey will take around 40 minutes.
Br Car
From Kuala Lumpur, tourists may drive south using the North South Expressway. They should take the exit towards Tangkak first then move to Segamat – Kuantan Expressway to head to east coast. It will take around 7 hours and 35 minutes to reach Merang. The distance is around 614.3 kilometers.
By Bus
There are plenty of buses that go to Kuala Terengganu. Some of them are Transnasional and Plusliner. Then from there, tourists will need to take a local bus to get to Setiu which will then be able to make their way to Merang.
