I am very dissapointed with the cleanliness of the rooms, I had to change room at 1 am, as I was not satisfied with the room condition when checked in. The second day of my stay, when I got back to the hotel after a long out to pasir puteh, only to find out, that my room was not properly cleaned. House keeping didn't empty the bathtub, water was still in the bathtub, just like how my son left the bathtub, my small kids, did not empty and drain the bath tub. Dirty towels were still there, iron board and iron was still at the same place as how I leave them before I left the room, im assuming, they just make up the bed and that's it. My in laws checked in the next day, and had to choose 3 rooms before settling in one. I am very dissapointed in grv, because they didn't maintain their standard. I remember coming here 5 years ago, it was a proper and complaint free hotel. Really spoiled my mood. Food was terrible, worst than terrible. Tasteless and roti jala was hard as rock. The only thing nice I can say about grv is their staff is friendly. With the rate charged, it is really not worth it. This is not a 4star hotel standard, more like 2star hotel standard. Terrible.

Old furniture, old bedding, old aircond. Overall an okay stay. Good location

Good and a bit quite. but suitable for family vacation.

My lovely hotel to stay when you at Kota Bharu, however, the hotel management needs to enhance the coffee house furniture. It looks too old-fashioned.

Good location
friendly and helpful staff, little old fashion decoration but that is okay for 1 night stay, really well located next to the night market where we had dinner and we had the chance to have river view wich is impressive. good breakfast malaisian style. I forgot my leather jacket they didn't get it back to me. but hey ! my fault. Easy to book a taxi to the jetty for Perhentian ( better solution to catch the boat with a reliable departure time)

The room was decent, overlooking the river. But the bathroom could use a bit of a scrub, the grout and tiles were yellowed by dirt. Staff was helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was decent. 10 minute walk into the city center.

Below Expectation
We checked in this hotel in a big group of nearly 30 people from 3rd September to 6th September to have our seminar cum cultural visiting here. Rooms are spacious and satisfactory but we are disappointed with the food they serve through out our stay here. We expect to taste some local Kelantanese cuisine if not all and the management didn't even bother to ask us about their service. As for my personal experience, during check in, the lady at the counter didn't even bother to check the list properly and straight away ask us to pay for the room. To me, this is very unprofessional because I have told her that I am with the big group. Another incident is that their dining staff just sit there gossiping among them which I feel is very rude and disrespect to their guest.

Not a grand hotel
We came in a group and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on a sight-seeing tour of the East Coast states. Décor in the front lobby was nicely decorated with Malaysian flags, fountain and a replica of the Tugu Negara (warriors monument). Our room on the third floor overlooks the river but not a pretty sight. Room was not spacious but there were coffee and tea facilities, a kettle, TV, fridge, ironing board with an iron and two complimentary bottles of water that were refilled every day. For a 4 star hotel, there was no hair-dryer in the bathroom! It was very troublesome to call room service for a hair-dryer after I had bathed and washed my hair. The switches in the room were a bit tricky to switch on and off. Plug points to charge mobile phones, notepad and camera were hidden from view. The points were located underneath the writing table and one must bend down to be able to reach them. Difficult for senior ladies in our group. The breakfast buffet was not appetising at all, as most of the dishes served were cold especially the porridge.

My worst experience ever! Totally my worst regret!
I checked in late, when I step into the room, the aircond makes a lot “water” noise. I request for a room change, walk in to another room, same situation, aircond noise again, the staff say all room the same, 4 star hotel staff reply me so way!!! It was too late I was too tire argue. Next morning, breakfast food area, full of flies, my god, 4 star hotel. Thru out the whole day, my room card can’t access into the room for so many times, I need to go down to the lobby to reset the card, ridiculous!!!!! Wasted of time!!! When I ask why, they say I put my card close to my mobile phone!! It is always guest’s fault. This is the last time I am staying in this hotel. Good luck to the rest.
