Once known as Victory town, Labuan is a bustling business centre with strikingly modern office and shopping complexes today. Situated at the centre of Labuan town, there is an open-air stage, which is a popular venue for some of the Island's major events and performances. On the other hand, ferry services run between Labuan and Kota Kinabalu (Sabah), Menumbok (Sabah), Lawas (Sarawak), Sipitang (Sabah), Limbang (Sarawak) and Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei).
