Quiet, relaxing, and yet just a pretty average place.
The first time I was in Langkawi, 2 friends and I split the superior room with the balcony terrace and view. It was chill. The second time around I got the standard queen room.
My overall impression was it was definitely a good economical choice for accommodations. Close to the beach, and just down the street was Almaz (my favorite eatery in Langkawi). That being said, The Village could use some serious upgrades or renovations. The engineering of the bathroom is lousy; the materials used were cheap (i.e. - the shower heads in both rooms I stayed in just hung from the machine because the holding mechanism was broken). The faucet barely comes out of the wall, yet they have this nice sink they put in (looks like a cheap hack-job performed). The rooms could need some serious spackle and fresh paint. The wifi was subpar when it was working.
Overall, the place is lacking the charm it has the potential to produce. It has a nice garden. It has a nice view into the grazing fields. The Village is nice when it rains, because you can really hear the rain well on the roofs which will serenade you to sleep.
I think the price could be better, or room service (or fresh towels?) could be offered to accommodate towards the pricing. After 1 nights stay I was too lazy to start shopping around though.
If you are seeking budget accommodations, this place is an option (but there are others on the island... you just need to be diligent and shop around). Remember though, a room should really only be used for sleeping. Langkawi has a lot to offer and you shouldn't be in your room at all until you arrive from being out all day. Consider this place a good option for those seeking not to break the wallet on your long travel journey. Enjoy!
