Travel Tips in Pantai Cenang

  • Langkawi enjoys duty-free zone status, and therefore is quite attractive to tourists aiming for shopping. The Zon Shopping Paradise, located at the southern end of Pantai Cenang just beside the Underwater World, is a definite must-go for chocolates, liquor, perfumes, and tobaccos. Among others are luxurious branded goods such as sunglasses, luggage, and watches.
  • Looking for authentic and rather ethnic handicrafts at Pantai Cenang? Go shop and hop around the beach road to find Amitabha Primitive Art, featuring array of hand-stitched pillow cases, dresses, and more, located very close to Laman Padi. Another shop to look for is Aishah Bt. Husin, situated beside Langkah Tuah Enterprise.
  • There is no public transportation in Langkawi, and taxis work in fixed price fare. For cheaper options and flexible arrangement, renting car (about RM70.00-RM150.00) or scooter (About RM25.00 to RM45.00) is much more convenient, but requires you to have international drivers license if you are an international tourist. Another cheaper option for short-distance trips is renting bicycles, available from many hotels for RM10-30 per day.
