The Marine Hotel

The stay was very good and the staff were excellent and the meals were very good and would definitely stay there again

I booked this holiday early but was given a late booking room .We have a hotel break every month this room was the worst one we have ever had .I could not sit on the toilet as the sink was in its way and could not close the door Room 136 for me i could not get into the shower The upgrade cost us £100 and was lovely like we have had in the past five visits .I will not be visiting this hotel again as with the very busy victorian week end my early booking did not mean anything

Another excellent stay made better by the amazing staff

We have stayed at this hotel many, many times, and every time is as good as, if not better than the last. The room, as always, was spot on, the food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the check in/check out were flawless. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. We can’t wait until our next visit.

As usual great stay very accomodating

Me and my partner stayed in a seaview room over the weekend and had a brilliant stay i would recommend this hotel as its walkable to everywhere room was very clean just could do with a repaint. Staff were really friendly and helpful

the hotel is a lot worse than the picture the room smelled damp the windows were filthy there was scaffolding right outside the window the bathroom had mould growing in places. the pool had no changing area it was closed off due to its dilapidated state and the pool area was dirty. the staff on the desk were a bit rude too generally it needs a good clean and decorating

The room was nothing like the photos on the website, the excuse was its an old Victorian building. The room that we thought we had booked according to the photos is apparently one room in the whole building that looks like the one we had booked totally misleading. There was nothing that the reception could do to alleviate the problem so the Marine hotel manager got involved and after several attempts we were refunded one night stay as she stated that they had fulfilled their obligations, so we ended up with losing over £100 due to misrepresentation of the photos, the Manager stated that she could do nothing else as it would go against company policy. They even have the nerve to take payment of your stay as soon as you walk into the hotel thankfully Hotels.com tried to intervene and that's when a part refund was made otherwise we would have been over £234 out of pocket. We would never ever book at this hotel again and recommend clients not to stay at this hotel. We didn't.

The first room we had was in a tired condition but Andy the manager gave us another room without any question and all the management were brilliant and very efficient. All the staff members throughout our stay were brilliant looked after us at breakfast and evening dinner.

Lovely two night stay with a bonus sea view room, great breakfast and staff are really helpful and friendly

Some areas are a bit tired but overall the hotel is clean and comfortable. Good position for centre. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices.

Our room was freshley decrated and the view from the window was fabulous. Would have appriciated a couple of hooks in the bathroom and outside to hang a jacket on, there was only the wardrobe or the back of a chair. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was really good. However, the hotel itself was showing it's age a bit. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room had mould toilets didn’t flush and bed was very uncomfortable.good side was stuff is lovely

Nice hotel and good spot for theatre and shopping

Decent hotel with a lovely view of the prom and sea from the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room fine with a quite cramped toilet / shower room but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel and room but no heating in bedroom, and too dog friendly some were sitting on the seats in the lounge

Overall condition is very poor.

This was the second time we have stayed at the marine hotel and found it very clean and friendly staff. Only disappointed thing was the cost of your dog staying had gone up considerably and they have now limited how many allowed.
