What Guests Say About Their Stay

Nicola

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the property and room were clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. One thing I really liked was every floor had a water bottle refill station (thought this was a great idea!) so bring your water bottle! We didn’t use the pool or gym but we did go down and view them and wish we had more time to use them. There is a resort fee and as we didn’t use the wellness facilities, was kind of a waste of money for us. But I would definitely stay here again. The chateau is central to everything in old Quebec. It was a lovely experience and one I would recommend.

The dinning was very upscale and elegant. The restaurant faced the river and was very pleasant for dining with a view. Great for once in a lifetime.

Loved the location, room was big and clean and well tended too. Gym was also good and food was lovely. Also decent parking options. Didn’t like how popular the hotel was as it took ages to get into the bar and our diner reservation was 20 mins late. Decided to go elsewhere on the second night as there are plenty of other options just outside the door. Overall a good experience. But probably not worth the price tag.

The staff was amazing and helpful, however for a 5-star hotel, there was some issues I didn't expect with cleanliness such as dust, the carpet having multiple loose threads hanging out of it, a window missing a screen, and shower that did not function properly. The location is wonderful as was the afternoon tea and Thomas our hotel tour guide was wonderful.

Nice hotel, iconic and great location for the old town. Can’t fault the cleanliness or the staff. Only downside was it seems to be a victim of its own success as there are so many people visiting it takes a while to get a seat at the bar and our dinner booking was 20 mins late. The sauna and steam are in the gents and ladies changing rooms respectively so you can’t spa with your partner, which is a shame.

Had a long wait to check into our room. The attendant said that do to a late check out our room was not yet ready. Also, we chose a room with a city view and our one small window looked decently at the roof. But it was clean. Shower had a nice large rain shower head and pressure was good. Even received a turn down service unexpectedly. Would stay here again but it was pretty expensive.

The hotel was very crowded with what appeared to be large tour groups, congesting the lobby and the ingress/egress through the drive through to the main entrance. There was no help from the front door staff to move traffic along or assist incoming guests with the door. Unfortunately, we were never able to experience the beautiful bar. It was always too full according to the host. But on Saturday night we did see empty tables inside. We had one negative experience when we returned from an evening out to find our room less clean than we left it after service by the evening cleaning staff. All that being said, this is a lovely hotel in a charming city. If you have an option, pick your stay in an "off season."
