The staff were excellent. I had forgotten my wife’s birthday card in my room and only realized it once we were at La Tanière. Thanks to the can-do attitudes of Laurie and Rosemarie, Laurie went to my room to get the card and Rosemarie dropped the card off at the restaurant on her way home after her shift. That is real service! Congratulations Fairmont and thank you Laurie and Rosemarie!

We had an outstanding stay at the Fairmont in Old Québec City. The location alone makes this hotel exceptional — it sits right in the heart of Old Québec, with most major attractions just a short and enjoyable walk away. We were able to explore historic streets, shops, and iconic landmarks without needing a car, which made the experience stress-free and immersive. Many excellent restaurants, cafés, and bakeries are within walking distance, giving us endless dining options every day. One highlight for our family was how close the hotel is to the toboggan slide at Terrasse Dufferin — an absolute must-do, especially in winter. Being able to walk there easily made it even better. The hotel is also very conveniently located for visiting other Québec City attractions. It’s close to Vacation Camp activities, the Ice Hotel (Hôtel de Glace), and other popular destinations, making it a perfect base for sightseeing and family adventures. Whether you’re exploring history, enjoying winter activities, or simply soaking in the charm of the city, everything feels accessible from this location. Beyond the unbeatable location, the hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and comfortable. The atmosphere blends historic charm with modern comfort, and the service was excellent throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend!!!

It was an amazing experience and the view from the window was great even though we didn’t have one that looked out. Staff was very helpful and willing to answer any questions. Was decorated for Christmas which made the experience so much better. I was confused because we got charged an extra $500 even though I payed for everything through Expedia. We expected the $75 charge after for the extra fees that we payed at the end when we checked out, but the $500 we were not expecting, it was never mentioned when we were booking our stay. The hotel is right in the middle of every thing which makes it super convenient to go to all the shops and restaurants.

Incredible location, Spotless rooms, outstanding service throughout the hotel, comfortable beds and beautifully curated shops, delicious food at Sam Bistro! Our room was near an elevator so it sounded like a constant light saber battle, the walls are thin so we could hear a baby crying and conversations that were not loud. As well the room was very dry - we all woke up with chapped lips and itchy skin. Water and body lotion are provided, thankfully. Overall a beautiful iconic hotel!! I would strongly recommend to other guests and hope to return!

The staff were excellent. I had forgotten my wife’s birthday card in my room and only realized it once we were at La Tanière. Thanks to the can-do attitudes of Laurie and Rosemarie, Laurie went to my room to get the card and Rosemarie dropped the card off at the restaurant on her way home after her shift. That is real service! Congratulations Fairmont and thank you Laurie and Rosemarie!

We had an outstanding stay at the Fairmont in Old Québec City. The location alone makes this hotel exceptional — it sits right in the heart of Old Québec, with most major attractions just a short and enjoyable walk away. We were able to explore historic streets, shops, and iconic landmarks without needing a car, which made the experience stress-free and immersive. Many excellent restaurants, cafés, and bakeries are within walking distance, giving us endless dining options every day. One highlight for our family was how close the hotel is to the toboggan slide at Terrasse Dufferin — an absolute must-do, especially in winter. Being able to walk there easily made it even better. The hotel is also very conveniently located for visiting other Québec City attractions. It’s close to Vacation Camp activities, the Ice Hotel (Hôtel de Glace), and other popular destinations, making it a perfect base for sightseeing and family adventures. Whether you’re exploring history, enjoying winter activities, or simply soaking in the charm of the city, everything feels accessible from this location. Beyond the unbeatable location, the hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and comfortable. The atmosphere blends historic charm with modern comfort, and the service was excellent throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend!!!

Courteous staff , nice warm pool with lap lane marked off. Beautiful historic hotel. Great location for walking in old city quarter. Easy access to lower town and ferry. Easy access to taxis. Gym 24 hours.

We stayed December 15-19, and it was magical! Beautiful room, spotless, super comfortable bed, great amenities. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful 🎄

It was an amazing experience and the view from the window was great even though we didn’t have one that looked out. Staff was very helpful and willing to answer any questions. Was decorated for Christmas which made the experience so much better. I was confused because we got charged an extra $500 even though I payed for everything through Expedia. We expected the $75 charge after for the extra fees that we payed at the end when we checked out, but the $500 we were not expecting, it was never mentioned when we were booking our stay. The hotel is right in the middle of every thing which makes it super convenient to go to all the shops and restaurants.

Incredible location, Spotless rooms, outstanding service throughout the hotel, comfortable beds and beautifully curated shops, delicious food at Sam Bistro! Our room was near an elevator so it sounded like a constant light saber battle, the walls are thin so we could hear a baby crying and conversations that were not loud. As well the room was very dry - we all woke up with chapped lips and itchy skin. Water and body lotion are provided, thankfully. Overall a beautiful iconic hotel!! I would strongly recommend to other guests and hope to return!
