Hotel and room very clean. Very convenient to local attractions like The Shambles and York Minster. They are within walking distance as well as shopping. Very friendly staff. Valet parking available or car park across the street.

We stayed at the Hilton York several occasions but this time was different. We haven't been since the refurbishment. The receptionist was very polite. The rooms were immaculate and the food was incredible. In fact next time we go will be eating dinner at the hotel overall five star.

This is a good basic hotel to stay in. Staff are friendly enough and the breakfast was good. The hotel itself is dated and rooms are simple. The most infuriating thing was that the tap in the bathroom was set so far back from the sink that if you tried to wash your hands, water went all round the side and onto the floor. Reverted to washing hands in the bath!

Great location and bar staff. That’s all. The shower fell apart. Tiny shower! The room wasn’t clean and the drains kicked out a constant egg smell in our room. The cleaners did half a job most days - we had stains up the walls, no shower gel topped up for four days, dirty mugs not changed for two days and got into bed one night to find a hangar and a pile of rubbish they’d collected and left on the bed. Disappointing for a Hilton and not worth the money.

The hotel experience was good with a wonderful breakfast.The only downside for us were the Bar prices which were exorbitant beyond belief. We were a party of 4 and decided to have a nightcap one evening and drank for 1 hour. The bill was beyond belief. Be warned These prices resemble those in Dubai.

Room was good but some marks on the wallpaper, very small bathroom with tiny bath and basic shower but plenty of towels and lovely hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser. Comfy bed with good pillows and a window that opened. Breakfast was ok, a wide variety of hot and cold items. Parking was £30 for 1 night.

The hotel is well located, easily within walking distance of all shops and tourist sites. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was fine but there was no fridge to keep drinks cool because there is also no air conditioning. Our room was really warm even though we had the window opened day and night.
