The gentleman on reception was superb, friendly and helpful. All other staff were so-so and not overly helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at Novotel Athenes. Room were average size. Carpets in the room and hall ways need to be updated. Breakfast was good and hours were very good. Good transportation in the area. Neighborhood is average, but we were in a group so no issues.

Great hotel but the restaurant closed the pool area before time specified to cater to restaurant attendees who just watch the sunset. After walking thru Athens you want to unwind in the pool. Area surrounding had beggers and homeless yet harmless

A bit of a dodgy area, but the hotel itself is nice enough.

Bathroom design needs to be updated. Privacy glass is required instead of plain glass.

Room key did not work and had to be re-magnetized 3 different times. Furniture was modern looking but pealing from wear. Pool looked great and it would have been sweet to go for an evening swim.

The rooms had broken sockets, mould and pretty run-down, not safe for young children. The area of where the hotel was located the locals kept saying was unsafe and reframe from walking the area. 5 mins from the hotel in day saw drug uses taking drugs and needles on the floor.

Inside hotel and rooms were very clean and well kept. Service was great, breakfast wonderful. Only issue is location, a bit far from Plaka area but that said about 10min Uber drive.

They should have dining available at both restaurants, as the roof top one is too hot and not suitable for some people that can’t stand with the heat for dinner.

The service was mostly excellent, and the place was very nice. We were very comfortable there. The neighborhood directly surrounding the hotel may look rough, but it's not far from nicer looking areas, and I felt fine walking around. It is a great deal for a very nice place to stay not far from the Agora and Acropolis and fantastic restaurants.

The hotel was fine and served its purpose however, due to having a pool it was extremely busy with limited facilities. The hotel is located in an area approximately 20-30 min walk from the centre and sights, of which you have to walk through some questionable areas to get to.

Good location and incredible roof top pool, however, the hotel was dated. All the necessary facilities but basic. Great for getting out into the city.

The highlight of our stay was the hospitality of Costas at the rooftop restaurant – truly warm and welcoming. The view of the Acropolis from the rooftop is beautiful. However, the food was very overpriced (e.g. €22 for a basic souvlaki) and didn’t match the setting. The pool was a nice addition, though small and often crowded. Rooms were clean but dated, and the surrounding area felt unsafe at night. Overall, underwhelming for a Novotel.

The front desk staff in the morning versus the evening were night and day. The evening staff were kind, professional, and very helpful. While the rooftop pool and the staff at the restaurant upstairs were great, there’s limited dining around the hotel. Also, there’s a lot of graffiti in the area of the hotel. The hotel itself is nice, it’s just very dated. I did have a small issue at the very beginning when we checked in. Even at check-in they did not have my room available and left me waiting in the lobby for over an hour past check-in. Upon entering my room, I had to call housekeeping back because there was hair in the shower, on the floor, and in the sink.
