Novotel Athenes

It was excellent service, access to the sightseeing bus with in 5 minutes walk, but only 6 rooms have the view of the Acropolis you pay more for that, food was delicious.

Their customer service is really good, and the view from the roof near the swimming pool is amazing! We stayed in this hotel in the middle of April for a few days. It was still very cold to swim in the pool. That was really pity. Staff in the reception and dinning area are very nice. All the public facilities and spaces are very good, but all the rooms are very old and need update. The carpet in the room really need change and clean, just so dirty. I can live with an old hotel room, but I worried about the location of the hotel when I was there. It located in a poor area in Athens. When I walk back from the tour bus station to the hotel, we can smell pees and rubbish on the street. Many of the buildings around the hotel are in very horrible conditions. Some of the streets are very dirty, and some people on the street were wired, some of them were digging through the rubbish bin.I felt very sorry to them and a bit nervous. I would not recommend hotel to people come with young kids for a holidays. You can definitely find somewhere nicer,. This hotel could be a perfect and cheap option for travellers who just stop by Athens for a night or two and use taxi as a transport. It is a cheap and not bad option, if you want to save some money. Mainly because the hotel itself is good. However, if you want a perfect holiday, you need to spend some more money and find else where. In the end of the day, you get what you paid for.

Good option for a short stay. Breakfast is worth it!!!

The worst area in Athènes, Is not a 4 stars hotel

Unica nota positiva la colazione, completa di tutto. Personale un po' seccato, però. Non hanno pulito la stanza l'ultima notte, ma le condizioni igieniche non erano da 4 stelle (c'era un dolcetto sotto il letto mai tolto quindi le pulizie giornaliere non erano accurate). Posizione in quartiere pericoloso pieno di extracomunitari drogati, prostitute, clochard.

Novotel hat uns bisher in keiner Stadt enttäuscht. Es war wie immer ein sehr toller und gelungener Aufenthalt. Ideal erreichbar und einfach genial

The hotel itself looked very nice on the photos while booking. The location itself put us off a bit due to the neighbourhood looking unsafe and abandoned. The breakfast sessions were a chaos. Connectivity was alright.

The hotel and the service were good but the rooms are too small

The buildings around the hotel are very run down and when the taxi driver dropped us, he warned us to keep our belongings out of sight and not come back too late. There were a lot of “men” on the streets around the hotel. I was glad I was with my husband as I wouldn’t have felt safe travelling with other women there. After the initial disappointment that the pool and roof top restaurant/ bar were closed as out of season, and that our room did not have the desired view of the acropolis as advertised, we actually enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and clean.

Fab hotel with the kindest staff. Whilst the surrounding area was run down, we never felt unsafe. Fab cafe next door and 8 mins walk to the metro for a quick journey to the city centre. We return again.

Super good hotel.

Excellent breakfast variety. Service lacking urgency/focus to please but could be a cultural difference. No swimming pool functioning in hotel ( why we chose it) and not explained anywhere until we arrived and sked to use pool. Gym is just one machine and some weights.

Good value for money but area around the hotel was so so. Felt a little unsafe at night

Hotel was a basic Novotel but with its own hotel perfume in the lobby (a smell many hotel chains have). Unfortunately the smell is so penetrating it leads to headache. Furthermore the place where you can breakfast is near to the reception, so there ain’t walls who keep the perfume away. Area wasn’t very good, many junky’s and homeless people. If you want to walk to acropolis what you can do it’s around 25 to 35 minaway, you shouldn’t walk alone. Staff was very nice.
