I checked in to two rooms around 11:00 PM after a trip from Yogyakarta. Unfortunately, one of the rooms had a fishy odor that was quite disturbing, making it uncomfortable to stay in. I immediately complained to the receptionist and asked for a room change. However, the complaint handling process felt ineffective. We were asked to wait quite a long time, then the staff came to check the room and then asked us to wait again to call housekeeping. Being extremely tired after a long trip, we naturally hoped for a faster and more efficient handling process. After a long wait, we were finally given a replacement room, but it was on a separate floor, which was quite inconvenient. Hopefully, in the future, complaints handling will be more responsive and considerate of guest comfort, especially during late-night check-ins.

The lobby is modern and aesthetic, the staff is friendly, and the CI and CO process is fast. However, the room I stayed in had one of the amenities glasses still dirty with coffee grounds (not cleaned properly when washing) and the bedsheets also had stains. I only got one slipper, perhaps the hotel is not yet 100% complete, especially in the swimming pool area, the cleanliness of the area around the pool is still very poor, as if neglected. The changing rooms are also still unfinished and unsuitable for use, but the pool water is quite clean.

The room is very minimalist, the bathroom is easy to peek into, because it only has 2 sliding doors without a lock, the one behind the sink. The hot water is unstable, so when it's warm it suddenly goes cold. The large shower head is also small, so you have to use a small shower head. The toilet spray has no handle, so you have to use the shower. The food is decent, but unfortunately the noodles are too soft and the lady didn't give me an egg omelet on the second day of my stay. The service is lacking in the restaurant. But the view is nice looking at the mountains. But in all Horison hotels, their access is close to everywhere. But unfortunately the parking lot is very narrow, until my car was scratched because there was a long cupboard hidden that was not visible in the parking lot. The sign in the parking lot should be removed, because the exit route is unclear, it's a dead end because there is no parking space. So cars are in the middle of the road, finally using valet if parking at night.

This was my first time staying at Horison, and it really lived up to my expectations. From the ambiance, the room, the service, the location, everything was great and super worth it. The breakfast menu tasted delicious, and the mineral amenities were Cleo. The staff were friendly and highly recommended for friends who want to vacation in Batu City. Close to Batu Square and viral cafes, also street food snacks and cheap stalls/shops. Next time I will stay here again. It's really random but super worth it and comfortable. The cleanliness is beyond doubt. Oh yes, you can also choose a room with a mountain view. During breakfast, there was live music and a view of the mountains with a little mist. Just a suggestion to make it more interesting, there would be a welcome drink/snack hehe 😊. Thank you Horison, Batu-Malang ❤️
