The service was very impressive. The pavilion is relatively close, a 15-minute walk. There are plenty of eateries around the hotel. Breakfast is varied, but always includes nasi lemak. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. I asked where I could rent a car, and the staff booked it. They arranged everything, and I just had to leave it at that. It was so cool! Next time I go to KL, this will be my favorite hotel.

Great room and facilities! The staff are also helpful. It's a relatively new building so it's super clean. The apartment/room I booked had a washing machine, big fridge, microwave, stove (with kitchen and eating equipment), fast Wi-Fi, and amenities. The lobby allowed us to store luggage after check-out, so it was very convenient.

This hotel is highly recommended. In one alley there are two hotels, Mov Hotel and Izumi Hotel, both in a row. Lots of food, there are halal pulled noodles and Indian food. Walk a little into the back alley and you will reach Bukit Bintang Street. Very close to Pavilion and the city center. Close to Monorail, MRT, etc. Highly recommended for those of you who want to go everywhere on foot and by public transportation. Close to culinary hits and Market Lot 10, Fahrenheit, and Don Don Donki Japanese souvenirs. Lots of food in this area. So far everything is okay, the bathroom is clean, the room is also clean, there is a great hair dryer, dries hair quickly, the best in general. Highly recommended ✨

Kuala Lumpur: A Metropolis of Contrasts for the Discerning Filipino Traveller

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's dynamic capital, offers a compelling blend of modernity and tradition that resonates deeply with travellers from the Philippines. Unlike other Malaysian destinations, KL stands out as a global hub, a place where towering skyscrapers share the skyline with ancient temples and bustling markets. It's a city that pulsates with energy, a melting pot of cultures that provides a familiar yet exciting international experience for those seeking adventure beyond familiar shores. From its world-class shopping to its diverse culinary landscape, Kuala Lumpur promises a rich and varied journey.

The sheer diversity within Kuala Lumpur itself is a major draw. The city is not a monolithic entity but a collection of distinct districts, each offering a unique flavour. Whether you're drawn to the vibrant nightlife and shopping of Bukit Bintang, the more serene and upscale atmosphere of Pusat Bandar Damansara, the commercial buzz of Mid Valley City, the historical charm of Medan Tuanku, the iconic grandeur of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, or the family-friendly entertainment of Bandar Sunway, your choice of neighbourhood profoundly shapes your KL experience. Even areas like Putrajaya, with its administrative architecture, showcase the city's multifaceted character.

For travellers from the Philippines, Kuala Lumpur presents exceptional value. With a starting price of just ₱ 303.55 per night for accommodation, it's an accessible international destination. The city is renowned for its culinary delights, family-friendly attractions, and unparalleled shopping opportunities, making it a perfect fit for those looking to stretch their travel budget without compromising on experience. This affordability, coupled with its rich offerings, positions Kuala Lumpur as a prime choice for international visitors seeking a vibrant and engaging city break.

The accommodation landscape in Kuala Lumpur mirrors its diverse appeal. From the highly-rated Sleeping Lion Suites in Bukit Bintang, offering amenities like a sauna and fitness centre, to the luxurious M Resort & Hotel Kuala Lumpur in Pusat Bandar Damansara, complete with spa services and airport transfers, there's a place to suit every preference and budget. These examples highlight the range available, from comfortable mid-range options to opulent retreats, ensuring that every traveller can find their ideal base to explore the city. You can easily book hotel stays that perfectly match your travel style.

Kuala Lumpur is a city that caters to a wide spectrum of international travellers. For those from the US and Europe, it offers a gateway to Southeast Asian culture, with a rich historical tapestry and modern conveniences. Indian travellers will find familiar flavours, excellent connectivity, and a budget-friendly environment. While direct regional ties might be less pronounced for African travellers, Kuala Lumpur's status as a major international hub makes it an attractive and accessible destination for those exploring Asia, offering a sophisticated urban experience with a distinct local character.

Best Areas to Stay in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is a sprawling metropolis, and choosing the right neighbourhood to base yourself in is crucial for an enriching travel experience. Each district possesses its own distinct character, amenities, and atmosphere, catering to different types of travellers. Understanding these nuances will help you select an area that aligns with your interests, whether you're seeking vibrant nightlife, cultural immersion, family fun, or a tranquil escape, ensuring your visit to this Malaysian capital is tailored to your preferences.

Bukit Bintang

Bukit Bintang is Kuala Lumpur's undisputed entertainment and shopping heart, a district that never sleeps. For international visitors, especially those from the Philippines, it offers a familiar yet exciting urban buzz. Think of it as a more sophisticated version of Manila's entertainment districts, packed with high-end malls, trendy cafes, vibrant street art, and a lively nightlife scene. It's particularly appealing to younger travellers and those who enjoy being in the thick of the action, with a constant stream of activity day and night.

This area is a shopper's destination, home to iconic malls like Pavilion KL and Fahrenheit 88, alongside numerous boutiques and street vendors. Foodies will rejoice in the diverse culinary offerings, from hawker stalls serving local delicacies to upscale international restaurants. Getting to Bukit Bintang from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is straightforward via the KLIA Ekspres train to KL Sentral, followed by a short LRT ride. For those looking to explore beyond the immediate vicinity, booking attractions in and around KL is easily done.

Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)

The Kuala Lumpur City Centre, dominated by the majestic Petronas Twin Towers, is the city's modern marvel and a must-see for any first-time visitor. This district exudes an air of sophistication and grandeur, making it ideal for travellers who appreciate iconic landmarks and a well-organized urban environment. It's a hub for business and tourism, offering a polished experience that appeals to those seeking a blend of architectural wonders and upscale amenities, reminiscent of other global financial districts but with a distinct Malaysian flair.

Beyond the Twin Towers, KLCC boasts the beautiful KLCC Park, the Suria KLCC shopping mall, and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The area is well-connected by public transport, with the KLCC LRT station providing easy access to other parts of the city. For travellers arriving from KLIA, the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral and then a transfer to the LRT is the most efficient route. This district is perfect for those who want to be close to major sights and enjoy a more curated urban experience. Use Traveloka to book attractions — book attractions.

Mid Valley City

Mid Valley City offers a comprehensive urban experience, seamlessly integrating shopping, dining, and accommodation into a self-contained precinct. It's a practical choice for travellers who value convenience and accessibility, particularly those who appreciate having everything within easy reach. This area appeals to a broad range of visitors, including families and business travellers, who are looking for a comfortable and well-serviced base without the intense bustle of Bukit Bintang. Its reputation for excellent retail therapy makes it a strong contender for shoppers.

The main draw here is the massive Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall, offering an extensive selection of retail outlets, dining options, and entertainment facilities. The area is well-connected by the Mid Valley Komuter station, providing easy access to KL Sentral and other key transit points. From KLIA, travellers can take the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral and then a short Komuter train ride. This district is a solid choice for those who enjoy extensive shopping and dining without needing to travel far.

Medan Tuanku

Medan Tuanku, situated near the historic heart of Kuala Lumpur, offers a more traditional and culturally rich experience. It's an area that appeals to travellers interested in exploring the city's heritage, with proximity to colonial-era architecture and local markets. This district provides a glimpse into Kuala Lumpur's past, offering a more grounded and authentic feel compared to the gleaming modernity of KLCC. It's a good base for those who want to explore historical sites and experience local life at a more relaxed pace.

Key attractions in and around Medan Tuanku include the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Merdeka Square, and the bustling Central Market. The area is served by the Medan Tuanku Monorail station and the Dang Wangi LRT station, making it relatively easy to navigate the city. For travellers arriving from KLIA, the journey involves the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral, followed by an LRT or Monorail connection. This neighbourhood is ideal for history buffs and cultural explorers.

Bandar Sunway

Bandar Sunway is a unique integrated resort city, renowned primarily for its massive Sunway Lagoon theme park and extensive entertainment facilities. It's an ideal destination for families and thrill-seekers looking for a vacation packed with fun and adventure. While slightly outside the immediate city centre, its self-contained nature and abundance of attractions make it a compelling choice for a dedicated holiday experience, offering a different pace from the urban core of Kuala Lumpur.

The main draw is Sunway Lagoon, a multi-park attraction featuring water slides, amusement rides, and wildlife encounters. The area also boasts Sunway Pyramid, a distinctive pyramid-shaped shopping mall, and numerous dining and entertainment options. Getting to Bandar Sunway from KLIA involves taking the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral, then a KTM Komuter train to Setia Jaya station, followed by a short bus or taxi ride to Sunway. This area is perfect for families and those seeking a resort-style holiday.

Pusat Bandar Damansara

Pusat Bandar Damansara presents a more contemporary and sophisticated side of Kuala Lumpur, characterized by modern office buildings, upscale residences, and a growing number of dining and lifestyle establishments. It offers a quieter, more refined atmosphere compared to the bustling city centre, making it suitable for business travellers or those who prefer a more tranquil base. The area provides a sense of modern Malaysian living, with well-planned infrastructure and a clean, professional ambiance.

This district is home to several corporate headquarters and is developing into a desirable residential area. While it may not have the sheer volume of tourist attractions found in other districts, it offers a pleasant environment with good access to amenities. Public transport links are available, though perhaps less extensive than in the absolute city centre. Travellers arriving from KLIA would typically transit through KL Sentral to reach this area. It's a good option for those seeking a comfortable, modern stay away from the main tourist crowds.
