We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel , stayed 2 nights , lovely service free towels slippers and dressing gowns and tea and coffee pods machine in room , staff pleasant nothing too much , very obliging

We loved it so much we simply extended our stay there. It is by far one of the best places we had the privilege of staying at. Everything from the staff to the place itself is magical, wonderful, delicious and amazing. 11 out of 10!!

Staying at the Scott was an exceptional experience in every aspects. From the dedication of the staff to all the attention to details that made us feel at home, warmly welcomed and wrapped up in a luxurious embrace. Everything from the room, bed, pillow menu, amazing hot chocolate, the velvet room, delicious breakfast and our Christmas at the Bonnar’s which we will cherish forever. The Hotel itself, mostly during the Holiday season is filled with beauty and charm and decorated in such a way to make you feel right at home. We will absolutely go back and wish this experience on everyone. Special thanks to Emma, Matheus and Angus who took extra care of us. Thank you all so much.

This is the best hotel and experience i have stayed at we couldn't of asked for more. I arranged with Emma the manager to help me plan a proposal during our stay and she could not of been more helpful, along with all the other staff who were so kind to us on the day. The hotel and room itself were absolutely stunning and immediately gave you the wow feeling when walking in, its something both of us will never forget! I cannot thank everyone at The Scott for there help and kindness during our stay, we are already looking to come back next year as i dont think we could come to Edinburgh and not stay here again! It is levels above the standard of hotels you get in the city and i cant recommend it enough - Thank you

excellent stay would reccomend!

We stayed for one night at The Scott just before Xmas and it was wonderful. This is a beautiful hotel made extra special by the team who were very kind, professional and helpful. The hotel room was large and very well furnished and the whole hotel has been decorated to a very high standard. Breakfast was excellent and the Scott is in a great location being a 20 minute walk or short uber ride to the city centre and is very easy to get to from the airport.

Second time staying at The Scott and very much enjoyed our stay again. The hotel is lovely and the staff are great. Will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely building and the signature room was very well presented. The hotel is in a good location too. Check in and initial welcome was very good. However, the second night the dining room was closed for a private function, we were informed of this that evening. We later returned to the hotel for a drink as we arrived the hotel looked closed we entered to find several staff congregating outside the dining room and it felt very awkward as we entered the hotel. We went to the bar to be told the bar was also closed to hotel customers due to the private dining function - although the room was empty. We certainly did not feel welcome after this and were pointed in the direction of their other hotel in the university complex, a place we would have not chosen to visit. A member of staff that we had been chatting to the day before asked us about or stay so far so we explained and she was very apologetic and took two drinks from our bill, this was appreciated but still being made to not feel welcome in the place you are staying was not ideal at all and on that basis we would not return.

Lovely welcoming and attentative staff. Youg man was Knowledgeable about whiskey as we relaxed in the red velvet room and staff Helpful and knowledgeable and gave us excellent recommendations for shopping and exploring - we celebrated birthday and will be visiting again

Only complaint would be that the underfloor heating in the bathroom didn’t work. Otherwise very good!

Staff, room, ambience. A delightful experience.

Outstanding property, beautiful public rooms and very comfortable bedrooms. Bar and restaurant ambience created an intimate evening experience for four, food was great and the mixed a perfect Martini! Staff all incredibly friendly, service with a smile from start to finish. Perfect base for a weekend in Edinburgh. Loved it.

Room and bathroom were a great size, loved there was a bath. Staff were very friendly and the public areas in the hotel were beautiful - loved the Christmas decs

The breakfast bar was excellent. However the food could have been served hotter. The evening menu was interesting. The portios were very small. I prefer my meat to be cooked through, werre as the lamb was seared. I understand that the trend differs. I did snd the meal back for the lamb to be cooked longer, which was done immediately. The length of time waiting for the next course was far too long. But other than that we wrre impressed with everything else.

The hotel was nice. The hotel definitely doesn’t seem like it’s pictures. There seemed to be no ice, hauling luggage up the spiral staircase was not great. They don’t offer for someone to help with luggage or room service. Most of the time, we felt not welcomed. The breakfast was decent. The bar had a small selection whiskeys, that were okay, but would have been nice for a larger array. Overall, it has old charm and the breakfast was good.

The staff were absolutely lovely. The rooms were super comfy clean and well furnished. Amazingly comfortable beds. Lovely bathrooms with underfloor heating and a great shower. Really great perk to have a complimentary bean to cup coffee machine in the lounge for self service throughout the day as well as the kettle and coffee maker in the room. We will definitely be back and The Scott is highly recommended.
