The hotel was nice. The hotel definitely doesn’t seem like it’s pictures. There seemed to be no ice, hauling luggage up the spiral staircase was not great. They don’t offer for someone to help with luggage or room service. Most of the time, we felt not welcomed. The breakfast was decent. The bar had a small selection whiskeys, that were okay, but would have been nice for a larger array. Overall, it has old charm and the breakfast was good.

The staff were absolutely lovely. The rooms were super comfy clean and well furnished. Amazingly comfortable beds. Lovely bathrooms with underfloor heating and a great shower. Really great perk to have a complimentary bean to cup coffee machine in the lounge for self service throughout the day as well as the kettle and coffee maker in the room. We will definitely be back and The Scott is highly recommended.

We enjoyed the stay, wonderful staff and a pleasant room . Couple of blips but nothing really . Room was booked as executive suite but was close to a walk way on ground level , for the campus . Other than that very good .

Very pretty hotel, was like staying in a fairytale. The staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful.

The team at The Scott were lovely, the hotel bedroom and bathroom were huge and had beautiful choice of furniture and detail to the style of the room. Tall windows and high ceilings made the space airy. Radiators worked well and underfloor heating in bathroom. I think there could be more space around the sink area to put toiletries etc so a small table or console could work there. Breakfast was delicious. You can walk to the centre in 30mins or a 7min drive. We loved it

Beautiful hotel and facilities especially if you want to be close to the University of Edinburgh student housing area. Great service and good food. Just a little off the beaten path to the center of town. Easy public transport though.

Great service and great place to stay

Such a beautiful and well-run lux hotel. Staff were excellent and the nature of the student population training here helped bring a level of fresh energy to the experience.

This is a very cute hotel in an historic building . Lovely room with a turret, fabulous restaurant in beautiful surrounds on the grounds of university halls of residence. Walkable to superb views from Arthur’s Seat and the city centre but away from tourist hordes. Highly recommend

I had hoped to get a place to put our clothes from both big bags as it was the first place we stayed longer than 1 night. But there were no drawers. Also no refrigerator for Hubbys medication. Also- the rooms were too modern for my taste. I booked based on the pics which looked much more period. The room decor was not a look back like I thought they would be.

Die Freundlichkeit und die Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals ist unglaublich. Stets zuvorkommend, immer ein Lächeln und alles scheint irgendwie eine Selbstverständlichkeit zu sein. Die Sauberkeit ist umwerfend: Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden. Im Gegenteil: Papierkorb wurde zwei mal entleert, morgens undabends vom Zimmerservice. Abends wurden die Betten aufgedeckt, die Rollos herabgelassen und falls wir zwischendurch auf dem Zimmer was getrunken haben, auch die Gläser gespült. Und frische Handtücher, ebenfalls morgens und abends. Frühstück nach Menue (Top: Scottish breakfast, aber auch eggs royal oder eggs florentine, French Toast) und vom Buffet. Am Besten ist aber: Einfach fragen, hier scheint alles möglich zu sein. Da das Hotel auf dem Universitätsgelände liegt, gibt es unmittelbar keine Geschäfte. Aber: Mit Lothian busses und tap tap cap ist man in 2 Minuten in der Nähe von Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Zu shoppen fährt man zur Princess street, zu Royal mile oder zu Grassmarket. Wird aber auch durch das Personal vom Scott sehr ausführlich und für jeden verständlich erklärt. Einfach brilliant.
