Kung Fu Tea & Chaozhou Food Making （CHIS-16 & CHIS-22）

In order to let more people know more about the cultural background of Teochew,Teo Chew Cultural Association is organising a food making experience and outdoor guided tour.

1) Teochew Kung Fu Tea Brewing (Instructor will explain and demonstrate the brewing procedure and guests can brew the tea themselves.)

2) Teochew traditional food making, such as Teochew moon cake, etc. Experience the fun of making food with your family and friends.

Kwai Yue Cake Shop Limited（CHIS-16）

It is a long-established Chaozhou dessert shop in Kowloon City, with a wide range of cakes and desserts, making it one of the most comprehensive Chaozhou dessert shops in Hong Kong. At the shop, you can learn about the production process of Teochew pastries, which are freshly made every day and are of high quality and full of tradtitional flavours, such as peanut candies,mung bean cakes, taro cakes,and Chinese cloud cakes etc. The Chaozhou style cakes was also inscribed on Hong Kong's Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2014.

Kowloon City Hau Wong Temple（CHIS-16）

It is believed that the temple was probably built in 1730 or earlier, i.e. over 200 years ago. There are stone inscriptions of the Chinese characters "goose" and "crane" written in one brush stroke inside the pavilion in the Chinese garden and behind the temple respectively.

Yaumatei Tin Hau Temple (HERITAGE SITES) (CHIS-22)

The Tin Hau Temple is located in Hong Kong’s bustling Yau Ma Tei area, a community that was once on the harbour front. Although land reclamation means it's no longer on the shore, fishermen still flock here to worship the Goddess of the Sea, Tin Hau. The temple is now a Declared Monument.

The School, Yaumatei (Monument) (CHIS-22)

Located inside the heritage site Tin Hau Temple, the school is renovated into self-bookstore selling Hong-Kong-related books, as well as cultural and creative products about temple culture in Hong Kong. There are also check-in spots for visitors.

Confirmation of booking will be received at least 1 day prior to the departure date.

Minimum number of tour participants is 15. If the number of participants does not reach the minimum number, the tour will be cancelled and an email of cancellation will be sent 1 day before the departure date.

Please be sure to arrive at the designated location 10 minutes prior to the departure time.

Travel insurance is included in the tour price. Full name, gender, ID card number (with last 4 digits in parentheses) and contact telephone number as shown on the ID card or passport are required for enrolment.

Seating arrangements in restaurants will be updated in accordance with the latest government guidelines on epidemic prevention, and menus are subject to seasonal changes without prior notice.

The tour leader reserves the right to change or cancel part of the itinerary at any time due to adverse weather or traffic conditions or circumstances beyond control, subject to safety considerations. Participants are not allowed to ask for refund or reduction of fees for any reason.

In case of natural disasters or circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to cancel or change the itinerary and notify the participants as soon as possible.
