What You’ll Experience

An authentic chanko restaurant in Asakusa, Asakusa Chanko-ba lets you enjoy a special hot pot lunch or dinner especially prepared by an ex-sumo wrestler. In the sumo world, an expression of the chanko taste sinking in refers to how novice wrestlers practice hard. Once they become strong, an expression of the chanko deeply sinking in is considered as a compliment. The restaurant also serves black pork from the Nanshu farm in Kagoshima, which has a soft texture combined with a bit of sweetness.
