How to go to Commodore Regent from Airport

Getting from Launceston Airport (LST) to Commodore Regent is a breeze with several convenient options. Whether you're after speed or budget-friendliness, there's a transfer from airport to hotel to suit your needs. Here's a breakdown of your choices for a smooth hotel transfer:
  • Taxi (Most Direct):

A taxi is the quickest way to reach the Commodore Regent. You'll find taxi ranks outside the airport terminal. Expect a journey of around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • Ride Hailing (Convenient):

Ride-hailing services offer a convenient alternative to taxis. Simply book a ride through the app after collecting your luggage. The pick-up point is usually located in a designated area outside the terminal.
  • Airport Shuttle (Budget-Friendly):

Several shuttle services operate between Launceston Airport and city hotels, including Commodore Regent. These are generally more affordable than taxis, but the journey time may be longer due to multiple stops.
  • Rental Car (Freedom to Explore):

If you plan to explore Launceston and its surroundings, renting a car is a great option. Several car rental companies have desks at the airport. Commodore Regent offers on-site parking.
  • Public Bus (Most Affordable):

While not the most direct, the public bus is the cheapest option. You'll need to take a bus from the airport to the Launceston Transit Centre and then walk or take a short taxi ride to the hotel.

Tips:

For the most convenient route, a taxi or ride-hailing service is recommended, especially if you have luggage. If you're on a budget, the airport shuttle is a good compromise between cost and convenience. Check in was extremely disappointing. The twin room I had booked and paid extra for a month in advance was unavailable, so was given a single room next to main road. Traffic noisy all night. However I did get refund of extra payment.

No lift so if you have a heavy bag and you have an upstairs room you’ll have to lug it up stairs. Good central location and clean bathroom with excellent water pressure for a good shower. Bed was good. Room wasn’t noisy either even though it is on a reasonably busy road.

We had a great stay overall. The room was spacious, modern, and felt really cosy, which made it comfortable to relax in. The location was also very convenient, being central to many attractions around Launceston. From the outside, the property does resemble more of a motel, but the interior of the room definitely exceeded expectations. We did an early check-out, which was easy, just left the key in the box with no issues. There were no breakfast options included, but considering the price and overall experience, it was still very good value for money.

Bed is very hard and uncomfortable. Very hot in room, and air conditioner not up to the job. Rooms close to road are noisy due to Launceston's abundance of motoring enthusiasts with noise enhanced cars. Opened window to try and cool room but of course it is then even noisier. I asked for a room further from the road but was told they were full.
