Location is good. It is walking distance from parliament and fairmont empress. Food is decent.

Breakfast service was terrible. Posted hours were 0630 to 10 am but food ran out at 0945 and was not replenished. Staff member on duty was not at all helpful: not cleaning tables; not replenishing food, and being rude.

The hot tub was broken when we arrived which was very disappointing as it was a reason we selected this hotel. We had received the following notice before arriving Please be advised that we will undergoing exterior renovations of the hotel’s driveway entrance beginning October 6th for approximately 6 weeks. Work is scheduled between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, with the potential for work to take place on weekends if delays are encountered due to weather. Please note there will be no work taking place over the Thanksgiving weekend, October 11th & 12th. During this period you will notice construction activity and equipment in and around the driveway area. We will make every effort to minimize disruption and appreciate your patience and understanding while this important work is completed. If you have any questions regarding this work, or require assistance during your stay, please don’t hesitate to contact our front desk team at 250-384-5122. Thank you for your understanding and for choosing to stay with us. The noise level included sometimes 3 jack hammers working at once. This made it so my husband, who has mobility issues and was planning to relax in the room, felt unable to spend time there. That forced him out onto the street looking for a quiet place to sit. I think a little more warning than that given would be appropriate for that level of disruption. Work started at 9am which some might still be sleeping. I had assumed it was going to be a minor inconvenience.

Staff were awesome. Very disappointed as a rewards member that we were warned with insufficent time to change that there was construction on the driveway. The work was extremely loud and on one of the mornings we were woken arond 7.30 by a bin being dropped off. The steam room was not working also - this was another reason we chose this hotel.

Had a great stay well I was in town for a work conference. Staff was nice , room was excellent

Found a bed bug and its eggs in our first room and were moved to another room. Vending machine at the hotel was not great--some of the rows were just not available even though there were items in them, orange juice wasn't cold when it came out, chocolate bar was soft and partially melted. Bathroom was mostly clean, though there was a mildew smell in the shower and handle on sink faucet needed to be really pressed down and pushed to one side to turn the water off. Staff were super friendly and helpful though, and we were upgraded to a room with a kitchenette after finding the bed bug in our initial room. Probably would not stay here again, but the staff were great.

Nice hotel on the Harbour. We took advantage of the small kitchenette. There was a nice balcony overlooking the pool, but there isn't a view of the Harbour.

Room service is dismal.

Excellent stay all in all. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing to be aware of is the fact that it doesn't have air conditioning. But fortunately fans were provided, large balcony door let fresh air in, and the moderate temperatures outside were fine for our September stay. I'd stay here again.

Food was fair. Location was excellent

We found a small live bug on our mattress upon checkin and we concerned it might be a bed bug. The clerk on duty dismissed our concerns and we had to ask at least twice if we could please get a different room. He finally begrudgingly agreed. We then spoke with the manager who knew nothing of the matter and were told that she would get back to us after she had a moment to look into it. She never got back to us over the course of our 3 night stay.

Quiet and very conveniently located to everything.

Room was not air conditioned so we kept the sliding door open and fan on. Room old, clean enough but I did find a bug in my sheets so that wasn’t great. Guess we should have read the fine print, thought the room would be air conditioned and it was warm out. Continental breakfast was good with lots of great options. Service was good, staff was very nice.
