Love this hotel!!! It’s such a good deal. We got an amazing large room with view. It’s in the perfect location, close to the harbour, theatre, downtown shop and cute restaurants. We could walk anywhere we needed to go. The room was clean, looks new and had big comfy beds. The hotel is quiet and feels safe. The staff was very friendly. They even called up to our room after check-in to make sure we had all we needed. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend to others!

There was very noisy, drunken guys next door after 10 pm. They used swear words and shouted. Room was very poor at noises. After a front desk call, they slammed the door one by one whenever they moved over other room. It was awful as my two children was very stressful because of it.

Hotel itself, the room and staff were excellent. The area around was not so much. We took one elevator from the parking garage that had a very strong odor of urine inside it. Good central location with lota of things to do around. Beautiful views of the water. Lots of construction and road closures around which of course is no fault of the hotel. We didn't feel very safe walking at night in the area

I booked solely based on photos and ocean view. I stupidly did not read any reviews. We arrived at around 8pm, there was constuction and closed roads, we followed the detours and were taken around the perimeter of the hotel, where we drove past a whole bunch of homeless people sitting/sleeping on stairs opposite the hotel, which is also near the entrance to underground parking. As two women on our own we did not feel safe going in there. I had to park a couple of blocks away opposite Service Canada building. I wondered if my car would still be there in the morning, thankfully it was. Although none of this was the hotels fault, you should be aware of the surrounding area and how unsafe we felt driving and walking near the hotel.

Heating/cooling system wasn’t working, had to leave patio door open all night to cool. Long black hairs in bathtub. Worst part was no onsite parking! Had to park down the road in unsecure public parade.

The staff were friendly and went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable, especially the restaurant employees. But the hotel is located in a part of town that feels run down and lifeless though efforts have been made to revitalize the area. It was convenient for us to spend a delightful day on Gabriola Island but I did feel eager to wander the area near the hotel.
