The pictures on the Expedia website were VERY contrary to the posted pictures. If your idea of a hotel is a very art deco/film noir creepy hallways w/aging room floors (starting to curl at the edges of the laminate wood floors, the faux leather edges of the bed either cut or stained from droplets, bathrooms a slip hazard b/c the shower just has a partition wall w/no shower curtain, and a management that does not accommodate, attempt to adjust or help, and denies any compensation....then THIS is the place for you. We will NEVER book w/Hotel Zero 1 which at this point of the review is a "Zero!"

Parking in the neighborhood is not good, so you have to go to a parking lot two blocks away and walk to the hotel, which is also an extra cost. And on top of that, the hotel windows were broken and wouldn't close, which caused us to spend the whole night with the air conditioning on, but the temperature in the room was less than 18 degrees Celsius, which was very cold.

Pros: Convenient location for metro. Friendly staff. English speaking. Onsite meals. Tidy spaces. Quiet. Cons: Dark interior. Very snug shower space. One single elevator for staff/guests. No in-room safe; lacking small extras- no bottled water in room, no bag for the ice bucket, no ice machine on my floor, very limited access for charging devices (had to pull out the extension cord from behind the bed); wifi dropped more than once so I ended up just using my own data.

Stayed at this hotel with my partner for the long weekend. Location-wise, it's super convenient, considering that you're close to two subway stations, and can easily also walk to Chinatown or even to Vieux-Montreal. The room was equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, a simple Nespresso coffee maker, etc., if that's something that you need. There were a few things that could be off-putting to some people: 1) The elevators are super slow. There's only one elevator for everybody in the hotel, and there are many floors. Sometimes you're waiting for quite some time. My partner and I would sometimes use the stairwell when possible; 2) The sheets were kind of weird. Basically one flat sheet above and another flat sheet below the duvet (vs. using a duvet cover); so it moved around a lot when we woke up. Otherwise, convenient, quiet, and a simple place to stay in if you just need a place to sleep, etc.
