Nothing really stood out but nothing was wrong

Service was great. The room cleaning was perfect. The only bad thing I should say they did not have too much options in food.!

If it wasn’t for the personal at the hotel I would’ve given it one star.

The resort was nice, but could have some improvements. It would be nice if they add coffee maker in the room, add hair conditioner in the bathroom, the food was poor, not many choices. But the beach was perfect and we had a great time on our vacation.

Booked this resort on $, get what you pay for. On property for less than 3hrs before going to the front desk to upgrade to The Senator. No wifi in the room was huge, we work from our phones, have children who enjoy tablet time at night.(Wifi issues were stated but never expected the lobby to be the only place we could connect). We had luke warm water which was brown, a busted window above the tub & the room was so small. Night/day between the resorts, still would not return. Breakfast lacked any protein, able to find bacon 1 time during our stay, hot dogs are NOT sausgage. Part of the pool was closed for reno, no swim up bar. Nightly shows, according to my 7yo daughter weren't appropriate/gross for kids. Buffets are small/minimal offerings & not refilled. No pool/beach bar service. We lost power and water many times. BEST parts: BRAULIO was a life saver in ALL the ways, he is reason our trip was enjoyable!! Kids loved the Nutella pump near the pancakes! Al a Carte dinners were good, reserving them was easy. Coffee, ice cream and pizza shops were great between shared amenities. The sports bar: GREAT service/food. Probably the most memorable of our trip between baseball/football games, had it all and again GREAT staff. The small outdoor sitdown to the left of the pool had good service and food. ARIEL was great & treated my kids so well. There's an area near the cruise ship port with a private beach, shopping, massages, etc NO ONE told us about this.

Area around the pool was very nice. Everybody was so welcome, nice and friendly. My biggest issue was the cleanliness in the room as it didn’t look very clean.

Rooms not so clean. Hotel outdated. Food not many choices but what they did have was tasteful.

Bad

The place overall is ok. The food is awful. I want to repeat again food is horrible is not worth the staying. If you go you will remember me food is garbage. If you like rice, beans and one type of meat Pork rib that’s all and multiple that every day. Yes the will occasionally bring beef awful hard over cook. Yes you will get one type of fish that’s all folks that’s all.

The service was terrible, and the food was nasty. The workers were rude and unfriendly.

What I didn’t like was that the food didn’t have any flavor — it was always bland. My wife even left with a stomachache.

Overall stay wasn’t so bad your front desk second shift security wasn’t very pleasant to their guesses I. Recommend more training on friendliness

This resort is the best in Puerto Plata. I have had the pleasure to go to many of them in the area and Playa Dorada. This one has everything i mean EVEYHING!!! Mainom is the perfect Location is 25 minutes from the POP Airport 35 Minutes to Santiago 45 to Las Vegas 30 minutes to Luperon. The resort is super clean and very very safe. the beach is shared with Senator Resort. sunrises and sunsets are a MUST DO!!! From Friday to Sunday it get packed with locals and that's is the best part of the trip. you get to share and meet couples and family also with loud kids LOL from the country and it feels good to be around your Dominican Brothers & Sisters. The Food is amazing fresh all day and delicious and the staff makes you feel at home. Dulce Rosario Ramon Eduardo Batista Gabriela and the ladies that makes the shakes are the best!!!. I have gone every 4 months in the past 3 years and i love this place . my son learned how to walk and run in this resort thanks you Playa Bachata you are the best. "Playa Bachata es mi segunda casa"

We arrived a couple of hours before check-in and were turned away at the main gate. No other hotel that we have visited in the past has done that. Once we were allowed to check in, it became a hard sell to get us to upgrade to the VIP Senator portion of the resort. Rooms were outdated and while the cleaning staff did their best, the roaches still thrived. Weekends are crowded and there are long lines at the buffet. Flies abound the dining area is all open so this can't be avoided.They claim six restaurants but only two are avilable unless you upgrade to VIP at the Senator. No wi-fi in the rooms, only in the main lobby and spotty at best. We did not even attempt to go into the pool... The only saving grace was the beach but even that could do with a little better maintenace. Rent or buy something that can rake the seaweeds away from the sand. Shelf liquor not of good quality. they were generic bottles with no name brands. My advice is to either renovate or shut down the old part of the resort. Maybe just concentrate on the Senator. It looks nice from the outside but I couldn't speak to its service and dining since we weren't allowed in the other 4 restaurants. Not recommended.
