Super tired looking and worn. Rooms could do with renovating. Radiator was coming off the wall, there were dents and marks in the walls. The room walls are paper thin so could hear everything.. especially on Valentine’s Weekend. Definitely not a 4 star.. 3 would be pushing it. Spa area wasn’t great, worn down and the changing rooms weren’t great. The staff at the reception desk and bar weren’t very warming. Also, please note they charge extra for pretty much everything! Parking £5 per car, per day despite nothing being around to justify a charge. 10% ‘discretionary’ charge on every drink or food item you buy at the bar, including a take away coffee. You have to ask to have it removed which feels cheeky. For the price we paid, I can justify the room price.

Lots of damp by the windows and was not to the standard we saw advertised online. Definitely not worth £339. We’ve stayed at some lovely hotels priced between £300-£400 in the past and this disappointed us.

I was informed that £50 would be taken from my credit card in case I took something from the bar. £5 taken for parking as their paying guest. When I complained, the girl next to the lady taking my booking suggested that some people do not have the Christmas spirit. As you had my credit card details to start with I am not sure why you started taking out more monies. I have used the Bridgewood Manor quite a few times in the past (2 years ago and back as I used to come down to see my family at least once a year. Therefore you can be sure that there are plenty of other venues I could stay at and will in future. What a shame. Bridgewood was always so pleasant before. Perhaps new management ???

The stay was very disappointing. The room was extremely loud—I could hear everything from other rooms and the hallways. I also later found out there was an event taking place the day before my check-in, which was noisy until midnight. On top of that, the room next to mine remained loud until around 3 a.m., making it impossible to rest. The event also caused significant delays at the bar; I waited about 40 minutes just to purchase a small pack of peanuts. Additionally, the baggage holder in the room broke even though my bag weighed less than 10 kg. Overall, it was not a good stay.

My whole stay at Bridgewood Manor should have commanded a first rate, five star. The reception staff were excellent, smiling and welcoming. Similarly, the cleaner was excellent - extremely pleasant, courteous, and thorough. My room was beautifully presented. Regrettably, I'm unable to award the deserved five star due to the rather unpleasant manner and attitude of a young lady serving at the bar. Not a single incident but service with a definite attitude. Most strange! After a hard day I had a fancy for a drink and to sit for a while in one of the rather pleasant lounge areas. I did report this to the receptionist when I was checking out. Again she was extremely courteous and apologised. I was told the matter would be fed back to the appropriate manager. I definitely got the impression that she was genuinely surprised at my comments. It is disappointing not to award the five stars, for obvious reasons. I would, however, definitely choose to stay at the Bridgewood Manor another time, but may perhaps pop to the store next door to get a ready mixed gin and tonic.

The room was tired and dated and requires redecorating. There was what look like mold foaming around the windows. The prices of food and drink have increased significantly, your better off going to the tiger moth pub and restaurant down the road , good menus for food and far more reasonable in price for food and drink.. Staff as always very helpful. I use this hotel regularly for leisure and my business. Not sure i will booking there again. Which is a shame.
