We had a lovely 2 night stay at Stone House Hotel in one of the garden rooms.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was really comfortable.
The bathroom was modern, clean, and spacious, with a lovely big bath and nice toiletries to use (bath/shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, hand wash).
Not necessarily negatives, but things to consider:
Being in a garden room, we had patio doors out. It was lovely, however meant we didn't have a window to open when it was warm, and we didn't want to leave a door open overnight!
Also, to access these rooms you had to go up stairs, and then back down, despite them being on the ground floor. I don't think there was any other access to them.
Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice.
We had dinner in the Indian restaurant one night, which was also very nice.
Stone is a 20 minute walk away, and has some nice places to eat and walks along the canal.
We would definitely stay again if in the area.

My wife and I have just enjoyed an excellent stay at the Stone House Hotel while visiting friends and family in the area. We had a warm welcome from check-in onwards - every member of staff showed the same polite, helpful manner wherever they worked.
The meals were very nice with an amazing selection of traditional English food and also extensive Indian cuisine, all served in two adjacent dining rooms. And the breakfasts were wonderful - what a way to start the day!
We found everything to our liking - no room for improvement! Thank you everyone!

Lovely hotel and garden arrived, checked in and had a G&T in the garden. The evening meal in the restaurant was absolutely delicious with friendly and helpful staff both in the restaurant and the bar. Lovely nights sleep in a four poster bed. The only downside was the shower had only two settings, scalding and off. We reported it to reception and the girl explained to us how to use a shower. I pointed out that we already knew how to use a shower. She did not understand that it had no control on it.

Good price is what attracted us to stay here, however the bar is very expensive and the rooms could do with some refurbishment. Our mattress was covered in urine stains and the floor was very creaky in the room, the mattress incredibly soft and uncomfortable but I appreciate this is down to personal preference. The staff were polite and there is the option for one free drink rather than having your room cleaned. Not close to the town but Uber is an option if you want to have some drinks in Stone.

Everything about the hotel was really good. Friendly and pleasant staff. Great food especially the Indian menu.

This is a nice hotel for an overnight stay. Since I was travelling alone, I booked a 'cosy double room', which is exactly what it says on the tin: a small room with a bed that is somewhere between a single and a double. The staff were welcoming on check-in, and there was a handwritten note welcoming me in my room, a nice touch, I thought. The main downside to my stay came in the morning when I had a shower; it was either lukewarm or scolding hot and seemed to fluctuate easily. Room was spotlessly clean, if a little tired in places.

A very enjoyable stay. The bar area was very relaxed and the staff were very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was super hot (clear warning signs that need to be followed). Extra charge for the pool which was the only disappointment as the cost meant we didn’t use it.
Bar prices were reasonable for a hotel and the food was good in the restaurant. All in all a good stay

The staff were super friendly and professional, really liked that. Room was smart, comfortable and really quiet! Gym and pool was a bonus, gym was tiny but it did the job. Would be more than happy to stay there again!!

Although a 3* Hotel, the service we received was more in keeping with a 5*. Our room was clean, free of dust and mould, loved the decor. The swimming pool was a huge attraction for my grandchildren and we were able to continue using the facilities after we had officially checked out. Food was well presented and good sized portion.
