Maison Durante

We liked the hotel overall. It was located centrally and close to the metro. You could walk 5 minutes to the train and go anywhere. The room was nice but had a smell every time we entered the room but then you get used to it I guess after a bit. Breakfast was really good - they will make hot breakfast for you. Initially it seemed the staff weren’t very helpful as we were there early and requested an early checkin but they couldn’t really accommodate until it was 2 pm and we had to sit outside and wait for long hours. However, later on it seemed they were understaffed and did what they could - staffs were actually very helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and a great time at Nice. We also took the train and did a day trip to Monaco. Location is fantastic. Only reason why not 5 star - we had a bad experience checking in and the smell wasn’t good in the room. There’s definitely some areas of improvement and I wouldn’t mind staying there again at all.

A lovely breakfast with freshly made eggs. The bed was comfy and we had a good night's sleep every night. The area is very quiet. Close to the train station.

Nice hotel overall but overpriced. Close to station but quiet. Didn’t think it was particularly good value for money. Room decor is lovely but it’s still by and large quite cheaply put together- plastic basin in bathroom that stains easily and cheap damaged bedside tables. Beds were comfortable. Area near the station isn’t the nicest.

My wife and I stayed at this property for four nights. We certainly had a very nice time and enjoyed our stay. We also would consider staying at this property again and recommending it to others. But, we would be cautious as we’re recommending it just to let our friends and family know that while the property is lovely, quiet, and presents itself more as a B&B we need to let everybody know that the breakfast is a bit limited and understaffed. Other than that, we had a nice time. To get to the promenade, and the old town was approximately 20 minute walk and very easy. The gentleman that checked us in on June 1 was very nice and accommodating. The other staff member who we encountered was a woman by the name of Emma. She was lovely and also very helpful. We let the staff know about the slow service in the breakfast room. They seemed responsive and everything was fine after that. We look forward to returning to this property if ever in Nice . We hope to see that the breakfast service will continue to improve.

We enjoyed our stay overall but didnt feel like the room was very clean. Our room had a foul odor when we arrived and the towels did as well every time we asked for new ones.

I only stayed here for one night before jumping on the train to head to another destination for work, but I had a really positive experience. Loved that it was such a short walk to the Nice-ville train station. I arrived earlier than check-in and the staff was so warm and welcoming. They offered me espresso and water and showed me I could do some work on my laptop while I waited for my room to be ready. They stored my luggage for me until my room was ready. When I finished with my work, I told the staff that I was heading out to explore. They sent me a whatsapp message when my room was ready and they let me know my room code and that my luggage had already been moved to my room. The room wasn't super big, but I had closet and desk space. It was also a super cute room and it was very clean. Bed was VERY comfortable. This is such a small thing, but the blowdryer that they provided was EXCELLENT. It was so good that I took a photo of the brand. The hotel was also really quiet at night and I slept really well. Would totally stay here again.

This was a beautiful property and the suite we had was gorgeous. The only issue we had was the washroom shower drain flooded and they did not fix this in time. The shower experience was not great, and the room was not cleaned when asked. They refused my request for a late checkout but one gentleman was very understanding of the situation and allowed us to check out later. This staff saved the review or I would have it 1/2 stars.

Maison Durante is a charming hotel centrally located for an easy walk to major attractions in Vieux Nice. The Nice Ville train station is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is tucked away off a busy street so the rooms, which face a nice patio courtyard, are very quiet. The staff is/are incredibly friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast was included and provided a nice assortment of bakery items, plus a menu of eggs, pancakes, yogurt with fruit available upon request. Rooms have been remodeled to a high standard and are very clean. Beds are very comfortable.. Best shower pressure of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at in any country. I highly recommend a stay at Maison Durante.

Maison Durante is only a few minutes walking distance from the Nice train station. The staff was extremely helpful. However, I only gave a 4-star review because when we took shower, water spilled out of the shower area into the bathroom.

Very good location

I was not able to stay because my booking made 6-8 weeks prior was not kept b/o OVERBOOKED

First time ever to write a review here after using hotels.com for over ten years. The hotel staff actually very rude to me which I didn’t expect. The high rate in breakfast and welcoming staff on reviews attracted my booking of three nights. Giving up the chances to live in Monaco hotel, I hope to enjoy a nice breakfast and the staff first ask us to remember a pin in order to get to the hotel but one time I forgot the pin and the staff seems not happy. He also reminded me to make requests in order to have room tidy which is weird as I spent 600€ for three nights I don’t expect I need to specify to have room tidy every day. The breakfast is the main thing I especially felt I m being treated rudely. The table didn’t have juice or milk and the cakes and bread are seldom choices. I can have pancakes or eggs if I specifically order but the pancakes are overcooked for 5 minutes so it become dark in colour when I ask her to make another one she simply flip another side to hide the fact of overcooked. my expectations of a ordinary holiday is ruined by the rudeness and unprofessional staff. I don’t want the other travel lovers suffering from this sort of situation, so I decided to write the review for the first time.

Location is exceptional: quiet and central. Staff going out of their way to please.

Johan was excellent and very helpful unlike the other gentleman the chef. Very clean and nice place to stay.

En général notre séjour était bien. Il faut comprendre que nous étions avec un bébé (peut-être pas l’idéal) l’insonorisation des chambres n’est pas excellente. Les murs auraient pu être nettoyé d’avantage ainsi que la salle de bain. Nous avons été très bien traité par Yohan à l’arrivée. Malheureusement pour le départ je ne peux pas dire la même chose.. après avoir demandé le Check-out ils nous ont pas facturé le solde complet et nous sommes pris à faire une transaction par téléphone vue que nous sommes plus du tout dans la ville.

The property was a beautiful quiet oasis in the city. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Our bags had been delivered to our room when we arrived. The staff was especially pleasant and helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location great breakfast staff excellent

The hotel is unique it is small in size but big on charm,friendliness, and quality. The breakfast is cooked to order and set in a nice garden view room. The staff is very helpful and the location is close to the train station and a short walk to the promenade. It’s a good value and we would definitely stay again
