Awesome stay here for 4 nights at a low rate, place was super amazing. Location is only a minute from Tsim Sha Tsui Station, 7/11, many restaurants and outlets nearby. Living room, bedroom and bathroom were surprisingly clean, warm, cozy, and feel like home. Facilities such were completely adequate such as microvawe, oven, hairdryer straightener, even they provide massaging chair (used it everyday after longwalk)! I was very glad to choose L'etoile de Mer for my first solo travel accommodation, met some new friends here also :)

Had a great stay at this property. Location is very accessible. Airport Express shuttle bus stops right in front of this hotel, making it easier to travel to and from the airport even with big luggages. Staff Rahul is very helpful. They allowed us to check in early without any charge. They clean the room everyday, too! Free use of their water dispenser and microwave by the lobby. Thank you Traveloka for the best deal! 🤩

The staff service is friendly and fast, the location is close to the MTR and bus stops so it's very convenient to go anywhere, next to the hotel there is also a shop for snacks, in the hotel room it turns out there is a microwave, stove, refrigerator, and cooking and eating utensils. Recommended in my opinion, complete facilities and strategic location with affordable prices.

More about hotels in Hong Kong

About

Imagine a city where towering skyscrapers reach for the sky, but lush hiking trails are just a heartbeat away. Yup, that's Hong Kong! This vibrant city is a fascinating mix of modern energy and ancient traditions.

Hong Kong is a dazzling metropolis where neon lights meet ancient temples, and the delicious smell of wonton broth fills the air. Getting around in this city has never been easier with the efficient public transport, and exploring the different neighborhoods is like unwrapping unique gifts.

Whether you're a history buff, a thrill-seeker, or simply a curious soul, Hong Kong has something to offer everyone. So pack your bags, get ready for an adventure, and prepare to be mesmerized by this dynamic city!

How to Get to Hong Kong

The fastest and the most convenient option to reach Hong Kong from Singapore is by flight. Several airlines, like Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, offer direct flights that take about 4 hours. Plus, you get to enjoy the comfort of in-flight movies and maybe even snag some duty-free goodies!

For the more adventurous, a combination of flying and ferry could be an interesting experience. You can fly to nearby Macau first (around 2.5 hours), then hop on a ferry to Hong Kong (around 1 hour). This adds some extra travel time, but it can be a fantastic way to experience two unique destinations in one trip!

Getting Around in Hong Kong

Hong Kong's streets buzz with energy, and navigating them can be a fun adventure. First thing first, let’s talk about Hong Kong's superhero: the MTR (Mass Transit Railway).

MTR can whisks you away across the city in clean, air-conditioned comfort. It's super easy to use, especially with English signs and announcements. Pro tip: Download the MTR app for real-time updates and journey planning.

If you're feeling nostalgic, hop on the iconic double-decker tram! It's a slow and scenic ride, perfect for snapping Instagram-worthy pics of the bustling streets of Hong Kong. Fares are super affordable, and you can pay with your Octopus card.

You can also choose the ferry as a fantastic way to explore and see Hong Kong's skyline from a different perspective.

Investing in an Octopus Card can be very helpful. It's like a magic travel wallet to unlock the city's transport system, allowing you to pay for rides on the MTR, trams, buses, and even some ferries. Plus, you can use it at convenience stores and other shops.

Top Things to Do in Hong Kong

So, you've landed in Hong Kong, and you can’t hold any longer to get around in this dynamic region. Buckle up, because we’re gonna take a thrilling tram ride up Victoria Peak, Hong Kong's highest point.

From up there, you can witness the Hong Kong cityscape from bustling streets to a dazzling sea of skyscrapers, all while enjoying the cool mountain breeze. The panoramic views from the Peak Tower are simply memorable!

After that, let’s explore the Temple Street Night Market. Here, you will find everything from local souvenirs and clothes to delicious street food. Don't forget to brush up on your bargaining skills, it's all part of the experience!

Feeling a bit more romantic? Come to the iconic Symphony of Lights, a nightly light show that illuminates the Hong Kong skyline with dazzling colors and lasers. You can watch it from the comfort of a cruise or grab a spot along the waterfront for a free view.

Must-Try Dishes in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a melting pot of flavors, with everything from street food gems to Michelin-starred dining experiences.

You can start your culinary adventure with a warm and comforting bowl of a wonton noodle soup filled with springy noodles, plump wontons, and a flavorful broth. This simple yet satisfying dish is perfect for warming up on a cool day.

No trip to Hong Kong is complete without indulging in a dim sum feast. These bite-sized delights come in steamer baskets and trolleys, offering a delightful variety of savory and sweet options. From the classic har gow (shrimp dumplings) and siu mai (pork and shrimp dumplings) to the more adventurous chicken feet, eating dim sum is always fun and perfect for sharing with friends and family.

Now you better loosen your belt because we’re gonna get some of Hong Kong's iconic roast goose. This dish is a masterpiece of flavor and texture. The goose is marinated and roasted to perfection, resulting in incredibly juicy and tender meat with a crispy skin that will have you reaching for seconds (and maybe thirds!).

PS: Don't forget to wash down all this deliciousness with Hong Kong's signature drink, the silky smooth and refreshing milk tea (nai cha).

Nightlife in Hong Kong

Hong Kong by day is a dazzling metropolis, a concrete jungle buzzing with energy. But when the sun is sets, the city transforms into a neon playground, offering a vibrant nightlife scene.

For the party goers, you guys can visit the OG of Hong Kong's nightlife scene, Lan Kwai Fong (LKF). LKF is a maze of narrow streets packed with bars, pubs, and clubs, each pumping out its own blend of music. It's a great place to grab a drink with friends, bar hop, and dance the night away.

Hong Kong also boasts some of the world's most stunning rooftop bars, offering breathtaking views of the city skyline alongside expertly crafted cocktails. Imagine sipping on a drink with the cityscape twinkling beneath you, pure magic!

If you want to get it tuned with local bands, you can visit the hidden jazz bars in Wan Chai to live blues nights in SoHo. There you can witness the thriving live music scene, catch a local band, soak up the atmosphere, and discover the city's hidden musical gems.

Travel Tips for Hong Kong

Navigating Hong Kong city can feel overwhelming at first. But fear not, here are some tips to ensure your adventure is smooth sailing.

First tip is, ditch the fumbling for cash and grab an Octopus card. This rechargeable gem lets you zip around on the MTR (subway) and pay for bus rides, ferry trips, and even snacks at convenience stores. Super convenient!

Secondly, learning some basic Cantonese phrases, even a few common phrases like "hello" (nei hou) and "thank you" (doh jeh) will go a long way with the locals. This probably will boost your haggling skills at street markets. Do it with a smile and respect, and you might surprise yourself with the deals you can score!

Last but not least, pack layers so you can adapt to the ever-changing weather, and don't forget a light jacket for the air-conditioned havens you'll encounter.

  1. More than just a trip, Hong Kong is an experience. So, pack your bags, embrace the adventure, and let the Lion City captivate you with its unique charm and exhilarating energy. So, are you ready to experience the magic of Hong Kong? Plan your dream trip and book amazing hotels with Traveloka today!

Very recommended hotel. Perfect location and CBD area. MasyaAllah dan alhamdulillah kita dapat hotel yang lokasinya benar-benar perfect ke mana-mana dan dekat dengan train station, busway every second minute will passed in front of you, juga restoran di mana-mana. Perfect place to stay with your family and affordable price. All surrounding hotel convenient, 2 minutes walk to the I square, many supermarkets, shops, and restaurants. The most important we found halal restaurant next door, level 1. I stay 7th days during Ragasa Typhoon and really safe hotel. Friendly staff too. Next time if we come back to Hongkong, we know where we have to go😇😘 Thanks for look after us.
