Fraser Residence Nankai Osaka

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Staff and all facilities are great.

This hotel is just right across the Namba Mall and easily accessible to Dotonborii Gl

Location is excellent, right across the train station. Room was fantastic and clean. Our room had a king size bed, a kitchen, washer/dryer to do laundry and an iron. It was like a little studio apartment. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

The area around the hotel is great. Everything is in walking distance. My only problem was the washing machine. The dryer did not work, I had called the front desk and someone came to look at it. They couldn’t get it fixed either and offered to dry our clothes in their dryer. When we picked them up the next day, they were still not completely dry, but we were checking out and had to take our semi wet clothes to our next destination. I think for the price I paid, a better effort could’ve been made.

Great hotel, friendly and attentive staff. Quick to assist with any questions. Location is great, with easy access to transit and walking to nearby neighbourhoods. Lots of great nearby eateries and convenience stores on every other block. The room is a good size, especially by Japanese standards. The only issue was that we booked a room for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids), but the room only had 1 (king-sized) bed and 1 small sofa that converted to a bed that barely fit 1 kid. When we enquired at the front desk, they offered to either make up the sofa with sheets for 9,000 yen, or give us sheets for free. As bizarre as it seemed to have to pay extra for them to add sheets, it still didn't solve the problem of where our 2nd child was supposed to sleep. We asked them to deliver 2 sets of sheets, and we managed to create a makeshift bed on the floor. The hotel doesn't have cots or roll-away beds. It was very strange that they knew that we were travelling as a family of 4, but only provided bedding for 3 people. The next day they did offer us a 2 bedroom unit, but for a significantly higher rate than our King Executive room, and since we'd already unpacked, it didn't make much sense logistically or financially. After we "Macgyver-ed" the sleeping arrangements, everything else was great. We would definitely consider this hotel again, but be prepared that their interpretation of how to sleep 4 guests might be off compared to other hotels. We had no such issues at Mimaru hotels previously.

Large rooms and convenient location.

Very convenient location in terms of being walkable distance to Dotombori and local trains/subways. My room was clean and I loved having a washing machine in my room especially in the Summer when I was always sweating so I constantly washed my clothes in between outings. The staff was great - always friendly and helpful. The only negative thing seems to be the lack of soundproofing, since I've heard banging, thumping and sometimes yelling through walls or ceiling (could be why they offer ear plugs). If I come back to Osaka I'll most likely book a room here again.

Like the proximity of the place to everything..

Staff are nice & the 1-bedroom twin suite is a good size. I booked for 3 people ( 2 adults & 1 child) with breakfast included but I found out that the child should be paid separately for breakfast. That’s the only thing I didn’t like.

The staff were friendly, check in was seamless and the room was great. Added benefit was the washing machine. The station was easy to get to and plenty of food options.

Enjoyed our stay. Staff always great! Rooms were clean. Good gym. Very convenient to rail and many shopping areas.

Great hotel for our family stay. Very close to all the key attractions. Would stay again.

Toiletries were excellent quality. Having a washing machine in room was a bonus.

This hotel was fantastic. The location was great, a short walk from all the action in Dontonbori, close to Namba station, but far away so that it was quite still. The washer/dryer was key as it was halfway through our trip so we were able to pack light and laundry. The room size was quite large as well, and the TV had the ability to cast from your phone which is a huge plus as English speaking travellers. We also got the breakfast while we stayed here which offered a large variety of options. The staff were also very helpful and taught us how luggage forwarding worked when we decided to use the service to send our luggage to our next hotel. Lastly, this hotel has a private sauna and steam room, which was something we took advantage of after days of 25-30k steps through Kyoto and Osaka. If I am ever in Osaka again, I will definitely book this hotel.

Stayed at Fraser for three nights with my husband and 19 year old daughter. The lay out worked well for all. Spacious and our room divided into two separate spaces for privacy. Area was very walkable to Dotonbori area and to Osaka Castle. Shopping at your doorstep. Very clean and great breakfast. Would highly recommend!

I was excited to stay at this place because of all the raving reviews on how kind and lovely the staff were, but that was just not my experience. I felt that they were a bit impatient and not very accommodating. I stayed in a room that was handicap accessible which is great but should probably be reserved for those who need it. It was set up and two twin beds and we requested to be changed to a different room and we were OK with paying extra. They said that they didn’t have anything available, but when I looked back on Expedia, there were several rooms available. I just felt like the room was an eye sore and honestly out of the three different hotels we stayed at in Japan this was the most unappealing one.

The location was perfect, the room was sparkling clean. We appreciated the washing machine. We had hard time with the smell of the room. To me this is a more 3 star hotel

Love this hotel, they have washing machine/dryer and small kitchenette. Very convenient.
