The hotel is currently a building site. Was not informed prior about construction works going on. Construction noise from early morning. Construction equipment and supplies at the entrance. Reception area was a building site. Scaffolding and workers outside our bedroom window. Hotel common areas very dirty from construction. Had no hot water in the bathroom sink. When I asked about this was told “you got the room at a good price, and don’t think cold water will be a problem for you. And maybe it’s just Ansterdam” Staff were not concerned about not having hot water!!! Bathroom also smelled very strongly of bleach on arrival which we later noticed was covering up the smell of old urine. Was offered room at a sister hotel, but that was very dirty. Stains on bedroom walls and overall dirty.

Good location to city, Hotel a little run down, but reflected in price. Due to rowdy guests and no sound proofing, was very noisy through to early hours of the morning

Overall a good stay! It was a capable walk with my luggage off of the train from the airport. Wonderful area with many restaurants, shops, market, cafe etc. All of the staff at the front desk were wonderful. I went at all different hours and everyone helped and answered my questions graciously. I stayed in Townhouse 816 and it was clean and comfortable. My only misunderstanding was not knowing there was different properties. So I had to carry my bags again across the street. Luckily I was only on the 1st floor so I didn’t have to carry my bags far but there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow so I felt bad for whomever was on the top floor. I also didn’t know the bathroom and shower were on separate floors. Not bad just different but you get used to it. Overall a good stay and would stay again.

The staff is friendly, and the room is clean, there’re small shops around. The view of the canals looks nice, especially with lights in the evening. But the room was not ready when checking in at 3:00p.m.

Our room was in extremely poor condition — it was located in the basement, dirty, and had bugs crawling around. We decided to check out a day early. While we informed the staff, their only response was that they “found no bugs” when they checked the room (likely because we had already killed them). Despite these issues, they refused to refund us for the night we didn’t stay..
