We had a great stay at Apex Waterloo Place! The service was excellent—special shoutout to a front desk staff member who was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and professional throughout our visit. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise. We expected a basic Continental breakfast but got so much more—fresh croissants, fruits, and even made-to-order items like smoked salmon with eggs.
The location is unbeatable—just minutes from Waverley Station, the Royal Mile, and tons of restaurants. Plus, the hop-on hop-off bus literally stops right in front of the hotel.
The only downside was accessibility. There are several steps in the lobby and on the way to our room, which made hauling 50+ lb luggage a bit of a struggle. Definitely not ideal if you have mobility issues or heavy bags.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return!

We had an excellent stay at Apex Waterloo. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable for two people travelling together. The property itself was beautiful and extremely well located, within walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Edinburgh. Special thanks to Yiting at the front desk who was especially kind and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay. We’d absolutely return to this hotel for a future stay.

Wonderful stay. Within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Waverley train station and many shops and restaurants. The hotel restaurant is worth a try as well. The room was a comfortable size for winding down and included a large sofa.

I think if I was to come back I would stay at the other Apex Hotel as it is closer to the castle but you have many dining options right outside the front door.

This was a fantastic and beautiful place to stay, easily walkable to The Royal Mile, both castles, and most of the sites in Edinburgh
The staff was friendly, helpful, professional, and very courteous
The rooms were clean and spacious
The bar was great, we didn’t go to the restaurant, maybe next time !
I highly recommend this when you go to Edinburgh

This a wonderful hotel in a central location in the new part of Edinburgh. Easy access to everything near bus station on St Andrews square, the train station 2 blocks away. We walked everywhere
