Grosvenor Suites

Broken lights in toilet, shower didn’t work properly, curtains don’t even fit the size of the wall, walls vibrating all day/night. No response when messages about room change possibility. Terrible all round for the price, and meant to be 4*…

The front door is a bit quirky (the instructions were good but I was late and tired and took a moment to remember them). The room was spacious and welcoming if a little too warm. The bed was a bit saggy. There are a number of switches which don't seem to do anything. And the room is so tall that heavy (and REALLY good!) curtains on a pole are very hard to manipulate.

The property is 2 mins walk from Haymarket station and lots of shops/restaurants really nearby. Slightly rundown, but great location and price, I'd stay again.

We enjoyed the period architecture with modern furnishings. It doesn't have a lift, which was a problem with bulky luggage. The hotel is positioned well, with a short walk into the new town, or accessing more of Scotland by rail/road. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, but not very spacious for two hungry people. Overall, it suits well for short stays more than long holidays.

Had a great stay

Great kitchen in the apartment. Liked the location. Walkable to great local pub and conveniences. Lifts would be helpful. Flat was warm. Beds comfy. Just need to make it clear that there is no baggage hold at the property or reception.

We were switched to a different property(Palmerston Suites) and only informed when I rang up on the day, about two hours before check-in. This caused us some stress as we were already in Edinburgh and trying to enjoy our day. The receptionist was rude on the phone but nicer in person. The room was good, so we may have been lucky in that regard. The lobby and stairs stank of sewage. There must be a problem with the drains or some kind of hidden sewage leak or something. I had to block the air gap in the door to stop the stink of stale plops.

Loved our stay here! Only issue was the shower was EXTREMELY hot please fix this. The WiFi is also slow. Despite these issues I willl still rate a 5 out of 5!

This suite was grand in nature, but lacked some basic necessities you would expect for the price tag. There is no parking, so we had to park in the Q Parking station at Capitol Square. For two nights it cost us roughly £53. We were hoping to get some street parking but this is all reserved for residents. So adding this cost to the room rate makes it too expensive for what you get. They supply dishwashing liquid but no plug for the sink or a tea towel. You cannot use the jug and the toaster at the same time - the jug keeps turning itself off. There was a used eyedrops tube on the mantelpiece which tells me minimum cleaning occurs. The towels were quite small so would suite someone 5' 4" or smaller and there are plenty of hand towels, just no face washer. The handle to the bathroom door is broken and the shower looks like a child has been let loose with a tube of silicone. There are no sidelights/lamps so you have to use the main light at night which is quite bright. The beds were comfortable so that was a plus. Overall - a bit disappointing for the price.

Nice period property, 25 mins walk from Edinburgh Castle. Top floor room, with small kitchen with all you need to make food during your stay. Clean and comfortable.

Really comfortable and easy to get to the city centre. Felt really safe for two young ladies travelling alone!

Very clean, comfy bed, nice little kitchen, good tv a good quality shower, can’t ask for more.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and found it easily accessible to everything I needed. When I return, I plan to stay there again; however, I think I'll pick something a little closer to the first floor.

The stay was very easy and smooth. The room was nice and airy and it’s a 10-15 minute walk to princess street and central Edinburgh.

This was a lovely place. The photos of the junior suite made it look bigger than it actually was, but it was a comfy bed, tall ceiling, a nice drying rack to hang wet clothes, a beautiful building with an amazing view of a gorgeous garden, a great hairdryer and fan in the room, a cute little kitchen, and a very convenient location for getting to downtown. The staff (located at a building a few blocks away) were kind enough to keep an eye on our belongings while we adventured.

It’s a lovely place and within walking distance to so much.
