For the price and the location, this hotel really can't be beat. It's situated on a busy street in the vibrant neighborhood of Malasaña next to lots of cool vintage shops and restaurants. My room was very small but clean and had plenty of amenities. The front desk people were very nice and went out of their way to greet me. I would definitely recommend learning some Spanish prior to your trip to Madrid though. It was a great place to practice speaking for me. I took a star off because of two things I think were mentioned in other reviews. There is a noisy techno club below the hotel that plays music until about 5-6am during the week. I slept through most of it but I hadn't really adjusted to the time difference so I woke up a few times. I also had a weird issue with the electricity in my room the night before the race I was running the next day. The power went out and this giant flood light in my room came on at 4am which woke me up and it didn't go back off until about 6am. I did reach out to the night staff but they couldn't do anything until the receptionist came in at 8. Issues aside, I would still stay here again but I might opt for one of the larger rooms next time.

Self check in worked OK. Room was fairly small but recently refurbished with modern shower/toilet area.

I really like that the building and room use a keypad for gaining entry. Very peaceful and felt like an apartment. Great place!

It was a very pleasant stay. Communication was good and staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Room was kept clean to a high standard. The only reason I didn't give it full marks is the heating wasn't working very well so the room felt a bit chilly in the evening. Maybe provide a duvet in the winter. Otherwise, it is an excellent place to stay to explore Madrid. Very central to all the major attractions and close to the metro station as well. Malasaña is a fantastic neighborhood replete with bars and restaurants with a very hip and laid-back vibe. I will definitely stay at this hostel again when I return to Madrid.

Very nice staff

First of all I booked a room with two beds and there was only 1 bed. Then they said they would refund me, and cancel then they refused to refund me, when I kept the room there was no water, no way to flush toilet shower or wash hands. They were aware of this issue before I checked in. I will report them to local authorities.

La habitación está bien en cuanto a relación precio/calidad, pero cuando llegamos olía muchísimo a cigarro.

I guess you get what you pay for here. It's a hostel, so the situation was not exactly unexpected. But it was still a bit disappointing - the room is suffocatingly small, and it is very difficult to sleep when you can hear people walking about outside.

Is was very centric and cosy. The room (11) was kinda small, but I was travelling solo, so it wasn’t a problem.

I stayed for 5 nights in Sep 2019. Pros: The neighbourhood (Malasana) is very central and lively. The hotel is a short walk from Tribunal metro station. The hotel is very simple - there are 20 rooms, one floor up from ground level. Service and cleanliness were also OK. The shower design was nice in that the shower head is mounted directly overhead. Having a kettle to boil water in the room was a nice touch, as were the safe and fridge. Cons: The A/C unit in the room made drippy water noises. The sink in the washroom was a bit too shallow, making it easy for water to splash onto the counter. It would have been nice to have a bit more counter space around the sink. The bed is a bit on the stiff side. The neighbourhood, while lively, may be a bit too noisy for some - there are people out on the streets until well after midnight, which may be a problem if you like to sleep early.

The hotel is fairly basic but location is great and the rooms were clean.

The staff was very helpful! I told her some problems of the room and the next day they were all fixed. It was a very pleasant surprise. The location of the hostel is superb - close to the main shopping area.

Ideal location close to centre of Madrid, friendly staff, great price

Hotel Malasana CC is a hidden gem. It is not the usual hostel or hostal that you will see being obvious from a street level. But nevertheless, the quality is just as good as a room hotel except that the size is much smaller. If your aim is quite straightforward - to have a bed to sleep the night away, and to have your own nice private bathroom, then this is the perfect place to stay. The Hostal is manned 24/7 by a reception staff who can open the door for you. It's a no frills, but very modern accomodation that is very clean, well-maintained and in a very central location.
