Whoosh is the high-speed rail service operated by KCIC between Jakarta and the Bandung area. Its four stations are Halim, Karawang, Padalarang and Tegalluar Summarecon. Whoosh does not stop at Bandung Station in the city centre; use the Padalarang feeder connection for that onward journey.

Whoosh fares vary by travel date, departure and class. Search for your journey to see the fare and seat availability offered for that departure. Check the total price, passenger details and ticket conditions before payment. A promotional fare applies only when its stated conditions are met.

Whoosh is Indonesia’s high-speed passenger train, operated by PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC). The Jakarta–Bandung high-speed line runs between Halim and Tegalluar Summarecon, with intermediate stations at Karawang and Padalarang. A regular trainset has eight passenger cars and 601 seats across Premium Economy, Business and First Class. The maximum operating speed is not the average speed of the whole trip: stops and station approaches affect the timetable.

Whoosh Jakarta–Bandung and Bandung–Jakarta routes
Jakarta to Bandung
Choose Halim as your Jakarta departure. For central Bandung, compare a ticket to Padalarang with a matching feeder connection. For the eastern Bandung area, compare Tegalluar Summarecon and the road journey to your final address.
Bandung to Jakarta
Choose Padalarang or Tegalluar Summarecon as your departure and Halim as your destination. If starting at Bandung Station, check the feeder departure first and leave enough time to board Whoosh at Padalarang.
For a Karawang journey, select Karawang explicitly in the booking form. Only selected services stop there; a train passing through the station is not necessarily available to board.
How long is the journey?
In the reference timetable, Halim to Tegalluar Summarecon takes 47 minutes on services without a Karawang stop and 54 minutes on services calling there. For example, G1009 leaves Halim at 08:00 and arrives Tegalluar at 08:47; G1011 leaves at 08:25 and arrives at 09:19.
Compare the departure and arrival times for your selected station pair. The rail journey is only part of the trip: add travel to the station, boarding time, any feeder connection and the final journey to your hotel or meeting. A Halim–Padalarang booking and a Halim–Tegalluar booking should not be treated as having the same duration.

Continuing from Padalarang to Bandung
For central Bandung, plan your onward connection from Padalarang. Check the feeder departure that matches your Whoosh journey and show your Whoosh ticket when required. Allow time to change trains; the feeder and Whoosh depart separately. KCIC advises arriving at the feeder platform at least 30 minutes before departure, with boarding closing 5 minutes before departure.

The Padalarang feeder is provided for Whoosh passengers. Keep your valid ticket for the connection. Do not use the Whoosh departure time as the feeder departure time, especially when travelling from Bandung to Jakarta.

Class names do not guarantee that every class is on sale for every departure. Use the booking results to confirm availability. Check the stated benefits rather than assuming meals, lounge access or a particular seat will be included.
Boarding and ticket changes
Arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before departure. KCIC states that boarding closes 5 minutes before departure.
- Check the departure station, date and time on the issued ticket, including the return journey.
- Keep the ticket QR code accessible and bring the passenger identity document used for the booking.
- Allow extra time for station access, security checks and walking to the platform when travelling with children or large bags.
- If you need assistance, contact support before departure and ask station staff for the accessible route on arrival.
Refunding a Traveloka booking
Open your Whoosh booking in the Traveloka app and check whether a Refund option is available. Traveloka’s refund guide states a deadline of 2 hours before departure and a cancellation fee of 25% of the ticket fare. Review the eligible passengers, fees and refund estimate shown before submitting; service and transaction charges may not be returned.
Changing the departure
A refund request and a reschedule request are different processes. KCIC directs partner-ticket rescheduling to Whoosh station counters. Read the change conditions on your issued Traveloka ticket and contact support early. Ask about the new departure, seat availability, fees and any fare difference before confirming a change.
Contact Traveloka Help Center if the ticket has not appeared after payment or the available change option is unclear. Keep your booking reference ready.
Travelling with children and preparing passenger details
Add every traveller, including an infant, when making the booking. Check how the booking form categorises the child’s age and whether the selected ticket includes a separate seat. Do not assume an infant can travel without being recorded on the booking.
- Enter names and identity details exactly as requested. International travellers should use the passport details required by the form.
- Review the age category, passenger count and seat allocation before payment.
- If your family needs seats together, check the available seat selection before completing the booking.
- Keep the child’s required identity document ready and allow extra time for boarding and feeder transfers.
Ask Traveloka support before paying if an infant cannot be added or you need a separate seat for a young child. The passenger and fare conditions shown for the booking determine the option you can purchase.
Whoosh baggage allowance and packing tips
KCIC allows up to 3 items per passenger, with a maximum item size of 100 × 30 × 40 cm and a combined weight of 20 kg. Its guidance describes two suitcases or boxes plus one backpack or handbag.
- Measure and weigh your bags before leaving home, especially if you are connecting from a flight.
- Keep your ticket, identity document and valuables in a bag you can reach during checks.
- Make sure you can carry your luggage through the station and during a feeder transfer.
- Ask the operator before travelling with unusually shaped equipment or items whose acceptance is unclear.
Check your seat and luggage area before leaving the train. For a missing item, tell station staff promptly and provide the train, date, seat and a clear description of the item.

Compare the total trip cost
Search the outward and return journeys separately if your plans are flexible. Compare the available fares, then add local transport to and from the stations. For a promotion, read the booking and travel periods, payment-method requirement, minimum spend, quota and discount limit before using it. A banner does not guarantee the same discount for every ticket.
Leave room for the return journey
For a Bandung day trip, choose a return departure before fixing dinner or activity times. Work backwards from Whoosh boarding to the feeder departure or the road journey to Tegalluar Summarecon. Avoid a connection that depends on arriving just before boarding closes.
