About Samsara Cooking Class Experience
Since ancient times, Balinese cuisine has been known as a traditional dish favored by the people of the Archipelago and the world. Many distinctive Balinese dishes are found in various countries, with appearances and flavors not much different from the original. The longing to taste and cook these dishes makes us even more enthusiastic to complete the experience at Samsara Living Museum, with a cooking class program specifically featuring authentic Balinese cuisine. Lawar, jukut liklik, sate lilit, urab, timbungan, and other traditional dishes are a must-try. As a complement, the cooked dishes will be served in a communal dining tradition, or what is known as 'megibung' as previously mentioned.
Besides being able to cook traditional Balinese food yourself, at Samsara Living Museum you also have the opportunity to make one of Bali's traditional alcoholic beverages, namely arak. Its production process involves proper fermentation and distillation, which is not only used as a beverage but also plays a unique role in religious rituals, such as offerings to the gods, and other beings in the universe called tetabuhan.
