Beautiful resort, lots of birds and a couple of minutes walk to beach. The rooms are soundproof. The staff very nice. I only ate at the restaurant one night (take out actually as they have no room service), food was plentiful and good but had to wait 50 minutes, maybe they were short staffed? As the restaurant was no where near full. The science run aquarium is ok but very small and the octopus and sharks are in crammed spaces and should be released. The resort is within a short drive to the shopping centre and the key not much further, if you love seafood the fish co-op is the place to go! Another highlight is the jetty itself, go at dusk to see giant stingray, parrot fish, and even if lucky a sea turtle! You can see whales from the mutton bird lookout and hawks. The yacht club has great food with a beach view and it’s a good price. Do not go to the dolphin conservation, it’s just a pool and cruel, why this place has not been shut down is beyond me. Dorrigo NP is a must go but if you get carsick be wary the road is full of bents. Also bring salt for leeches. Lots of birds including bower and lyre birds plus others I’ve yet to put a name to. The butterfly house is way over priced and you’ll see more butterflies wondering around but they do have a dozen or so peacocks and a white pheasant loose on the grounds.

We stayed at the Pacific Bay Resort as an overnight between Sydney and the Gold Coast. Reception was welcoming and friendly, directions to our room precise, parking availability was excellent, our room although probably 35 to 40 years old was spotlessly clean and well maintained. A golf cart shuttle picked us up And took us home after dinner and the same thing in the morning for breakfast. Five stars on everything!

Not great for the price. The pools and grounds were beautiful and well maintained and the location is excellent with beach access. However, the actual rooms were very worn down, but large. The spare blankets were stained and OLD. We asked for new ones, which we received that were only unstained, but still OLD and scratchy. The bathroom needs minor repairs, painting and updates, the tiles are cracked and the bathtub is ancient. There were leaky taps in the bathroom and kitchen sinks. Overall, it was very average although the family friendly aspects were excellent (playground, beautiful pools, golf course, soccer, tennis, big apartments, etc.)

The rooms are NOT serviced. And don't accidentally unplug the Wi-Fi (there is a small sticker advising that ... but you will need your glasses and to move the furniture to see it ;)

Pros: Quiet location, lovely outlook to bushland, parking undercover. Bayside Grill and Bar good (as usual). We stay at this resort regularly. Cons: A disappointing stay this time as the apartment (2602) needs proper maintenance to bring it up to an acceptable level for the price charged. The apartment looks a lot better in the pictures than actually in reality Apartment is not as clean as it should be! Bedhead (and top end of mattress near it) on left side of the bed needs a good clean to remove stains. More than a single small towel rack is needed in the bathroom (for 2 towels). Mould in the bathroom. Venetian blind in bedroom badly damaged (needs replacing). Drapes difficult to draw closed in both rooms. Lounge room screen door to balcony damaged - cannot be closed properly. Remote controls for both TVs don’t work unless you stand right up close to the TV. Double power point (with ‘old’ lamp plugged in) in lounge area doesn’t work. Tested both outlets and lamp works in kitchen power points ok. Not enough power points in any room and no usb charging power points at all. Not recommended this time.
