Super overnight stay at the Brittania, shame I was solo this trip as was welcomed with a upgrade to a fantastic room wasted on me lol, shame about breakfast which I missed as service didn't start until 7.30am my flight was 8.40am, would have got all 5☆ if breakfast started at 6am, big old building lots of character, could do with a bit of tlc, otherwise great stay.

Beautiful historic building in central Manchester. Large bedroom with a bathroom- bath and shower. Good breakfast- fried and scrambled eggs, but no vegetarian sausages, and rather limited cereals/continental spread. Helpful staff and good left luggage facilities.

Dated rooms which could use some repainting etc. No main room light, only lamps which meant the room was quite dark. Thin walls meant that music and other activities in other rooms were audible. No room safe, no iron or ironing board (unsure if this would have been available on request). However, the staff were nice and the bed was comfy enough. The hotel was competitively priced but i’d recommend it solely for its location.

The street was rather noisy (not the the hotel’s fault ) bed not that comfortable payed for breakfast unfortunately it didn’t start till 8 so couldn’t have it due to running the marathon

The room had a very odd smell and we were unable tonopen any windows. The windows were also so dirty, it was hard to see through them. The bathroom had no extractor fan so it became very steamy, very quickly and the only place for the steam to go, was into the bedroom once the door was open. There were a lot of very drunk people hanging around the lobby at all hours and the police pulled up a few times. Good points are that check in is quick and efficient, location is fantastic and the beds were comfy.

Bar staff not attentive at all. Waited over 15 minutes for a drink and when the other staff were alerted of this, they seemingly did not care. The property itself was lovely and both bars in the hotel are a great addition too.
