The Queen’s Hotel is another beautiful historic property, and it’s clear that considerable effort is being made to preserve its character while gradually renovating it. Our room had some attractive design features and retained period furniture, although a few pieces were showing their age with minor maintenance issues. The room itself was reasonably clean, though the carpets would benefit from either a thorough cleaning or replacement. Because of the hotel’s unique layout, reaching our room with luggage involved several flights of stairs despite there being a lift serving part of the building. The biggest downside for us was the Wi-Fi. The signal in our room was almost unusable, meaning we had to sit in the lounge to access the internet. The hotel also offers a paid premium Wi-Fi option for streaming, but given the poor signal in our area of the hotel, this wasn’t a practical solution. Reliable internet is something that is expected in most hotels today.

Lovely old Victorian hotel filled with charm of the era of days gone by .. Get location on the Promenade where one can promenade in front of the sea with fabulous view north to St Michaels Mount and south to the fishing port at Newlyn. My room did not have a fridge, microwave or soap - all I thought were quite standard for rooms these days but there is a supermarket just along the road so I could buy some soap and shampoo. And a great chip shop which was quintessentially English as was sitting on the promenade and eating them! One good thing was the complimentary big breakfast, which was delicious. The staff were great too! The location of the hotel to Penzance is an easy stroll over the hill or round the bay and this little town is really worth the visit! Lovely shops , lovely beaches towards St Michaels Mount. And that is also worth a visit !

I stayed for four nights from the 6th July 26 until the 10th July 26 and was allocated Room 45. Although it was a Single room, it had a Small Double Bed. The room was clean and comfortable, although a bit dated. The Staff at the Hotel were very friendly and worked very hard. Breakfast was very good, and a good choice. I had Dinner in the restaurant on two of the nights, and the food was good. Although they had two menus, my only criticism is that the main menu was the same every night. It's a shame they don't change it daily.

Lovely welcome at The Queens by the Receptionist. Hotel car park makes such a difference in busy Penzance. Very impressed by our sea-view room on first floor. Delicious breakfast the following morning. The 11am checkout gave us extra time. Such a lovely atmosphere at this hotel. Will come here again.

I had some issues with the cleanliness of the room. I raised them with staff on the front desk and they were fantastic. Fully engaging, very helpful - however the actual people responsible for the room cleaning were not and did not address anything. After nothing changed, the front desk staff moved me to a different room, and I had a good chat with and apology from the hotel manager. Overall, despite the issues with cleanliness, the hotel is well-run and it was a nice friendly place to stay. Staff are on the whole fantastic. Food was lovely, the bar and dining areas are really well-laid out and the hotel is in a brilliant location by the sea. I'd recommend it as a hotel, with the red flag about cleanliness - double check when you arrive! I think there is a professional disconnect between the staff responsible for cleaning rooms and the rest of the people working at the hotel which I hope they'll fix, so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt for that to be sorted.

If want to experience a stay in a unique local hotel, this is it. The building is Victorian, and the environment is comfortable but not trendy. Not everything matches or was updated in the same year, but that is what makes it feel more homey to me. They could probably do with some bathroom upgrades, but everything worked fine and truly that’s all you need. The restaurant is very gluten free friendly, and their gluten free fish and chips were great. The breakfast was very extensive with generous portions. The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The location on the Promenade made it even more special. I would stay here again.

Old fashioned hotel but they were very nice and accommodating when we asked for things (hand towels, tissues) that weren't in the room already.

The staff are lovely helpful and polite. The very best part of the hotel which is sadly a run down Victorian/Edwardian pile in desperate need of a total revamp. However, I know this will never happen as it would not stack up financially. Served us well for a single night on the way back from the Scilly. One of the few dog friendly hotels we could find in Penzance. Breakfast was nice but we chose a really busy time and the staff were amazing under pressure. The place was remarkably busy. But I guess that reflects the limited choice in the town.
