We had an amazing time during our stay, like I read in past reviews the bathroom were super outdated but everything else was wonderful. The gym is super modern and the Zumba and Spinning class were great. The entertainment group were super nice, they all work very hard to keep the guests happy, Estrella and Gabriel were super. We’ll definitely be back.

Grounds keeping was nice. Tons of amenities if you can beat out the tons of other guests to reserve items for use such as pool chairs, dinner reservations, bars, rental equipment etc. I personally felt a touch discriminated…could be due to our race or being American either way something was a miss with our treatment compared to others I witnessed and heard from. Housekeepers were not thorough. Room water temp was broken on first day, lights in room not working, TV malfunctioned. Travel all the way to Mexico and for broken & or dirty stuff. Pool towels dirty and or had stains of either blood or something seemed like every time I got one. Check in process was very slow like really bad. Buffet food 50/50 either slopped together/improperly cooked (or) really good….guess it depends on who’s working in the kitchen on certain days. A person in my party got sick one day and couldn’t travel on an excursion we booked using the hotel concierge, she got sick from food poisoning (at the hotel) and when we attempted to not pay for her for that day trip the front desk (at checkout) the receptionist said go talk to concierge representative and ask them but that person was not available due to helping another person…had to pay front desk rep at checkout or otherwise miss our airport departure shuttle. If a person gets sick from food poisoning then can’t partake in a paid excursion that’s the hotels fault. I’ve been to 28 other countries and I have to say this was a disappointment for us.

The experience was great, but there could be an improvement in their restaurant reservations system. There is no alert or message of the booking, we lost one of our reservations because we were late :(. Other than that everything is awesome.

This is our third time coming to Barcelo we always stay in the Caribe since it’s close to everything. Service is always excellent-this visit Carolina took extra good care of us at the breakfast buffet. I will say we still loved it, place might need a few things fixed here and there more so in the restrooms in public spaces. I would recommend this place to anyone

Avoid ocean front rooms (it’s a scam with the only view being that of garden!) Water slideshow are there but not included (they charge extra for that in an all inclusive resort)

On the surface the property looks nice however rooms are outdated, quality of food is poor as well as food choices in buffet and restaurants. Alcohol beverages were horrible. I believe the alcohol is watered down and the drinks have a medicine like taste. Save your money and go elsewhere
