Entry to St. Peter's Basilica is free. Inside: Michelangelo's Pieta, his architectural dome, and Bernini's towering baldachin at 29 metres. St. Peter's Square is open 24 hours a day. Note that climbing the dome carries a separate fee; the basilica itself is entirely free.
