The on site staff were excellent, with several employees showing great commitment to making our stay as good as it could be. Unfortunately, the standard of maintenance disappointed and ws exposed by the hot oppressive atmosphere in the building and in our room in particular. The cooling system was totally dysfunctional and our room was permanently very hot and stuffy, dangerously so in my opinion. On request, staff provided us with an air circulating fan, but this was the best they could do as the built-in system simply did not work. Food and beverages services were good and the whole hotel appeared clean and tidy, difficult when there is rapid turnover of guests. Organisational investment is urgently needed to improve matters further, but congratulations and thanks to the staff, including the on-site management and reception.

Small rooms, no air conditioning (but maybe, that’s just UK hotels), limited breakfast options….but very clean, with helpful, thoughtful staff. Maybe a bit overpriced for the value received.

Bathroom-mould around the bath, very rusty tap unit in the bath , when I lifted the lever to dispense water the tap area exposed was green

A decent and fair hotel. Ideal for stayers who want to hang around Southampton for cheap price (it can get expensive around school holidays time especially summer due to high demand) It is also useful place for stayers who have a cruise to catch the next day or two if coming back from it. (Or maybe visiting the Isle of Wight fir the whole day, you can either catch a bus or walk, which takes approximately 15-20 minutes) Breakfast is absolutely great you have everything you need. Although a nice hotel to stay but theres one thing i wouldn’t recommend is staying around summer time as the bed can get quite hot and you may have trouble sleeping but they do provide electric fan in each room. Overall a nice place to stay especially if you love Southampton alot!

Det var rent på rommet. Men manglet alt som kunne ligne på airconditioning, noe som ikke var heldig mindt under en hetebølge. Vi fuktet håndklær, flere ganger iløpet av natten, i et forsøk på å kjøle oss. Så vi sov lite. Frokosten var kaotisk. Personalet var hele tiden på etterskudd med å fylle på, og de virket dårlg organisert. Men de var hyggelige, det skal de ha.

Amazing location and good views. Great friendly staff and quick check in. The air-conditioning in the room was quite weak and the room was tidy but not spotless. There was a broken hanger which could have been a hazard.

Checking in, the receptionist tried to charge us for the room we’d already pre-paid! When I convinced him we’d paid, he said ‘my bad’!! The hotel is sad & rundown. The room was small, stifling (no aircon…) & scruffy. There were stains on the duvet cover - not nice. Next time we’re in Southampton we won’t be going back to the Ibis!!

Used this hotel many times due to its convenience for Southampton port. No complaints whatsoever.

No AC during a heatwave makes for a very uncomfortable room. Temperature did not go below 83°.

We were unfortunate to book the Ibis during Englands heat wave. The hotel rooms have no air conditioning. The supplied a 10" fan with windows that do not open more than 6 inches. Very little air could circulate into the room. Our room NEVER got lower then 83° F. The windows opened like a book, not upband down. They had no amenities except a breakfast you could pay for. They did not offer any compensation for the very uncomfortable night. We thought maybe a bottle of water, but nothing.

Not worth the money. No breakfast included. Unfortunately, the room was very outdated and appeared to be poorly maintained. Better hotels in the area.

This hotel has great staff who managed to answer all our questions. Breakfast was excellent with cooked food being replenished frequently.
