The hotel was comfortable and warm. We had a room at the back of the hotel with no noise at all. The breakfast was fantastic, cooked to perfection and hot... always a bonus. The staff were very informative and friendly. Would recommend.

Stunning hotel , quite small rooms but still very homely! We was even welcomed with a couple of mince pies! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Easy to get to the center of York. Car park is located to the rear of the hotel . Overall a lovely stay.
The only reason for 4 star is because the room was a little on the small side and due to being near the restraunt part we could hear the guests going to breakfast. But having said this we would stay again.

The young man on reception was wonderful, polite, helpful and so friendly, lovely room, coat hangers would have been good, I found the noise from the road kept me awake, and I couldn't get the temperature right, too cold, too hot, but it's an old building, and this wouldn't stop me from staying again. I didn't have breakfast as I left each day before it was served, but feel £18.95 was very steep. I loved the help yourself to more tea, coffee and FRESH MILK, non of this UHT stuff.
If you don't mind a walk it's about 20-25 minutes to get to the centre of the town but it's a lovely walk. Great find and a great room price for York.

TV didn’t work, and no action was taken by the hotel management to fix it.
No hot water to shower on final day.
Attempted double charging for breakfasts at checkout. Had to produce banking app to show payment had been made on the day I arrived. No apology given.
