This hotel was one of the nicest I’ve stayed in beautiful surroundings by the river service was amazing. Cleanliness was outstanding. Service in general was perfect.

Beautiful location, really lovely rooms and the staff simply can not do enough for you. The location is a bit outside of kandy about 10 to 15 minute tuk tuk ride but the prices for food and drinks are very good value and the view is amazing so we only ventured out at night once over our 3 nights.

Be aware—- there is no elevator available and rooms and dining area on varied floors. Be ready to climb steep stairs. Nice rooms and amenities. Beautiful views of river and area walks are great. Excellent meals at buffet restaurant.

Slightly retro but well appointed. nice pool and outdoor area. scenic. lots of stairs. very attentive staff. lots of food choices, not enough authentic dishes. why pasta station and sweet n sour pork? breakfast lots of vegetarian options.

The hotel was clean and well furnished. We had a balcony room which had fabulous view of the river, a great place for watching nature around you. It was very peaceful. The pool area is good with separate pool for toddlers. This also overlooks the river. The staff were excellent. All polite and helpful which you find a lot in Sri Lanka. The restaurant was buffet style and food good quality. We had an excellent 2 nights in Kandy. Hotel situated short distance from Town centre, uphill. Just a short ride in tuk tuk.

One of the best buffets that I've ever had. Very authentic. The pool was nice, and the balcony was a nice surprise as well. The resort sits on the bank of a river so walking is a bit limited. The staff goes above and beyond.

We recently stayed at the Kandy Citadel Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were comfortable, well-maintained, and offered a pleasant stay. I want to give a special mention to Sadun Fernando, one of the servers, who provided exceptional service. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor made our breakfast experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Kandy Citadel Hotel for its excellent hospitality and beautiful setting.

I would have liked to see more vegetarian/vegan options on the dinner buffets. Location is about 15min from Kandy downtown -- depending on traffic this could be even longer. However, if you are looking for quite location this is perfect.

I was annoyed with my registration status. I opted my reservation with breakfast included, but, hotels.Com made mistake with my reservation and this hotel denied to include complementary breakfast. I was told to pay extra for breakfast, this caused alternative arrangements on myself. My room was next to evening entertainment, music, and till midnight it was very disturbing. Payment expected only in US$, causing extra charges. Hotel location is good, but Hotels.Com mistake with reservation caused disturbance.
