The staff were obliging, kindly and precisely providing afterhours instructions. The layout of the room was pleasing and convenient. The lift was useful to transport luggage. However, as the building is not well-insulated, the bedsheets are freezing cold. I strongly recommend that you bring an electric throw. Street parking is generally paid during the day, so I suggest that other guests only stay for one night.

The kitchen had everything we needed for a couple of nights stay. A lovely, friendly host.

Elevator very slow, unfriendly staff. Rooms aren’t soundproof

This stay was a step above a backpackers. The cleanliness was below average, the service of the rooms was basically a touch up vacuum and a new toilet roll. I had to ask for my rubbish to be emptied. I ran out of hot water half-way through a shower on day 3. The room was dated, and not as pictured. The kitchenette on my floor (which I thought would be in my room) seriously lacked ammenities, and the ground floor kitchenette didn’t open until 10am and was always closed when I needed something. I wouldn’t stay here if you were hoping to self-cater, and I won’t stay again.

The lady that ran it and I assume owned it was nice. The actual room was old, dated and tired. You get what you pay for. I personally would not stay again.

Great location, welcoming and helpful staff, super comfortable bed. Delightful neighbourhood and walking distance to South Melbourne Markets and public transport. For tye price, fantastic!

Lovely place to stay. Close to MSAC & Albert Park and a tram ride away from the city center. Room was clean & bed comfortable. Highly recommend.

I've stayed at the Lily Sands numerous times. The only criticism I have is that the TV reception is terrible. it keeps dropping out on multiple channels.

Perfect for our 5 day tradeshow at the convention centre. Big rooms, very big bathroom with decent hot water and easy parking within walking distance of the fair (only on the weekends is it all day parking which seems to be the norm in Melbourne). Area is quiet and not traffic jammed

They need to equip the kitchen in the penthouse suite fully, with glasses, wine glasses, matching plates, etc, etc.....

Had a great stay, nice and close for what we needed

Had to change room as Air Conditioning was making very loud noises. Rooms very cold on arrival. AC too small for space and struggles to heat the space. Kettle plugged into power board with fridge. Lead not long enough so kettle balances on edge of bench. No chair to sit in. “Kitchen” on each floor. Dishwasher full of dirty dishes - no detergent tablets. Also toaster, microwave and kettle.

The air conditioner needs attention, it really struggled to cool the very hot room. Other than that the room was very good and the bed was great.
