For the price point its an absolute deal. Its next to a train station and tram, theres a chemist and convenience store next door to reception, park right across the street. BY FAR the best shower I've had in a hotel; water pressure and heat was fantastic. Beats the Hilton and all the resort hotels I've worked at. The pillows were also the best I've ever had, they weren't flat and deflated after 2 mins of laying on them. Good support and extra long size which was really nice. Very surprised, as I usually need to being my own from home to have a decent sleep. We got a comp upgrade to a beautiful park view, which I would definitely book next time I stay. The floor with the pool and gym did have a bad smell next to the elevator, but the facilities were fine. Very minor scuffs on side tables. Expected for a hotel if this tier and price, nothing was broken. 100% recommend going, especially for the price point.

The room had a persistent stale smell throughout our stay. Upon check-in, we were advised that we would receive one room service for the week, however this never occurred. In addition, there was construction taking place next door, and we were repeatedly woken early in the mornings because of the noise.

While it is under renovation, Oaks provided a quality room that was clean and very well equipped. Balcony was adequate for two to sit comfortably and enjoy the view.

Das Zimmer war wirklich ok und der Balkon mit Ausblick sehr sehr schön. Aber ein Apartement war es nicht wirklich. Ein normales Hotelzimmer mit Küchenzeile. Das Bad war doch sehr klein. Negativ ist definitiv, daß überraschenderweise keine Reinigung der Zimmer stattgefunden hat. Diese muß man separat buchen.

Everything was great, only negative was the workers on my floor with jack hammers all day. I understand this work needs to be done but maybe don’t use the rooms on the same floor, and if you choose to, let customers know before they commit.

It's a great location, easy to get around the city. The reception staff are lovely. :)) The view is always lovely if you have a view over Flagstaff Gardens as you get to see the sun go down. The windows are filthy however and because the sun comes in and goes down in that direction it's even more noticeable but okay if the weather is good and you have the door open anyway. When you close the sliding door to the balcony it's very quiet which is great as you don't hear outside traffic. It's quite outdated now (I stayed years ago) They could certainly do with rooms being refreshed, needs updated furniture, (the greenish chair was fabric worn, a stainless steel coffee table was old and didn't look clean. the carpet is old, clean but old, had 2 obvious stains although it was clean. The bathroom outdated, it's a basic functional bathroom but has no style and awful lights for make up (fluros) etc. Water pressure was good in my room. etc The bed was comfortable. The pillows were not good. They were hard and I couldn't get comfortable with them. First nights sleep was not good due to pillows. I should have taken my own. I ended up grabbing a black throw blanket fromthe cupboard for the following night and used that rolled up and has a better night's sleep. There is zero information in the room if you are new to Melbourne. Like zero, nothing etc not a problem for as I know Melbourne but if you were new to Melbourne it would be nice for people to at least have some guides/maps etc

Friendly staff and clean, spacious room. The area was perfect, opposite a park, close to transport options and within walking distance to malls and other attractions. Would definitely stay here again.
