Hotel itself was great! Room was very comfortable. My only complaint was it was very hard to control the temperature in the room based on where the unit was. A desk was right in front of the unit and it was impossible to see the controls.

Location was good. The property and room could use an update/maintenance. Window in my room didn't have mesh so could not keep window open to help with air circulation in the room...bit of a musty smell. One light fixture needs a bulb replacement. Elevator was not working for 1 day. My keycard stopped working so had to go up and down the stairs for front desk to reset the card. Overall staff were friendly and helpful.

We waited a while at the check in for someone to come. Breakfast was good.
When leaving the woman at the front desk said we were checked out but we keep receiving these emails from Hotels.com and have not received any receipt. We are still waiting for that. The woman at the front desk said it would come from Hotels.com. I doubt that we will use your service again. Communication with Hotels.com has been poor. This is the second time I have completed the survey and still no response.

I did enjoy my stay, close to where I needed to be for the baby shower I attended, why I was in tbay for the weekend. The bed was quite comfortable, pillows were not, I am glad I brought my own. The bathroom shower needs to be fixed, low water pressure. The fridge froze the stuff I put in there.

I chose Travelodge because it is a known chain and I have stayed at a few locations that were very nice, Kingston Ontario and a Travelodge motel in Kissimmee Florida.
I drove to Thunder Bay to attend my mother's funeral which is more than a 14 hour drive so by the time I got there I was exhausted and was looking to settle in for the night, first problem was the smell of weed permeating the hallways along with the filthy hallway carpets. Once unloading my luggage in my room I went looking for an ice machine, there are none. Once back in my room I removed my shoes and socks only to quickly put my socks back on as my feet would stick to the carpet. For whatever reason the bed does not come with a bed spread just sheets and a blanket this did not really bother me it just seemed odd. In the morning, I went to use the washroom and to shower to get ready for my mother's funeral service and got a nasty Suprise, you can see in the pictures posted. The diverter for the shower was broken but with a bit of fiddling I got some of the water to divert to the showerhead, controlling the water temperature was impossible so I abandoned my shower attempt at the hotel and used my dad's shower at his retirement home. To round off my experience on Friday after the service a native woman who appeared a bit off threw a goose egg size rock at me in the hotel parking lot, i informed a nice young gentleman at the front desk of what she was doing in the parking lot and to my Suprise he was not shocked.

We saw three rooms before we found one with acceptable cleanliness. Holes in the walls, no pictures and normal amenities were not in room. Required several trips to front desk to obtain standard items. Only bright spot was a nice breakfast before leaving.
