Excellent location for easy access to Abingdon and Oxford park and ride. We were attending a graduation and needed an early start - breakfast is normally served at 8, but the proprietor was gracious enough to serve ours at 7:30 so that we could get into Oxford on time.

The room was spotless, heating on prior to arrival. I was offered an upgrade on the room which was a nice gesture. The bathroom was clean and had extra towels, the TV has a good selection of free to view and stresming options. A cooked breakfast was also included.

The only thing good about this place is the parking.
One resident who had been there for a few weeks likened it to faulty towers- he was being extremely generous. Doors don’t lock, shower didn’t work, dangerous corner stairs in bedroom , green tinged bottle of free water, mouldy fridge and walls, empty cans inside and out which I were told had been there for weeks and not very helpful staff on the phone when trying to get the locks to work for basic security

gastvrijheid: bij aankomst was ons niet duidelijk wat we moesten doen. We hebben zelf verschillende gsmnummers opgezocht (waarvan de meerderheid buiten gebruik) en toen we eindelijk iemand aan de lijn kregen, was het moeilijk om duidelijke informatie te verkrijgen. We kregen 2 sleutels maar beide kamers gingen open met dezelfde sleutel, wat we niet goed begrepen. Ontbijt konden we nog doorgeven via Whatsapp, maar ook dat liep de volgende ochtend niet vlot: we kregen foute bestellingen en het was een deel zelfservice (wat geen probleem is, maar het was wederom niet duidelijk dat dit de bedoeling was). De bediening was voor de rest eerder beperkt tot het krijgen van onze borden English Breakfast, zonder meer.
De kamers zelf waren in principe voldoende: ijskast en ventilator waren voorzien, samen met een goede douche en een Japans toilet. Jammer dat de algemene staat van het pand niet goed onderhouden was (LEDstrips in een 17e eeuws pand is écht niet de vibe waar we naar op zoek waren). Daarnaast waren de soap dispensers niet aangevuld en was de deur van onze douche uit de houder en hadden we na de douchebeurt een compleet natte vloer.

A quirky and odd looking place. Room was ok, bathroom not totally clean, old towels and an unappetizing breakfast. Location for our family times was key for choice. Town of Abingdon was lovely.

When I arrived, all the lights were off and check in was in darkness, there was nobody about to talk to or to check me in apart from a helpful chap who was a permanent resident who managed to contact the owner and get the key code to collect my room key for me.
The room, once I was in, was comfortable and clean but I felt very vulnerable as I was my own. I’m sure if I was with my husband I wouldn’t have felt quite so isolated.
I left before breakfast so I can’t comment on that.

It’s the first time I’ve ever checked in in England with google translate, I booked a deluxe room with a bay view, that was not what I got, the room was clean but when entering the room I had to descend down a very steep slope, if you put a step wrong you could break your neck, breakfast never happened and I don’t think it ever does, convenient for a night if there is NOTHING ELSE AVAILABLE

We had a few problems at the beginning - two lamps in the room not working. not easily solved with a receptionist who was pleasant, but didn't speak English. But Jack the Manager did his best to help and sort things out. It didn't help that we were staying over the hottest June day on record and our room was like an oven! But for our 2nd night, Jack found us another room that was much cooler and generally nicer, so full marks to him for arranging that for us. His help was much appreciated. A plus point in this hot weather is that both rooms had fridges!

Nice enough, I had a big room, got a good nights sleep.
Only issue was that I stayed a Friday night, and needed to depart about 8AM Saturday morning. They do not offer breakfast on Saturday before 8, so I got nothing.....

i was under the impression that the property was an old style pub with rooms, when i booked. But it turns out just to be a bed and breakfast. The room was lovely and had everything you need, plus more, like a trouser press, a bottle of filtered water with the coffee and tea facilities, a microwave in the shared lobby and plenty of parking and nice outside space to spend in the sunshine/evening

I was a bit confused about this property. The welcoming sign still says The Plough Inn, whereas the booking says AbingPlough. It seems a bit of a mish-mash shambles to be honest. But the beds were clean and comfortable. The young woman who looked after us was friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was probably a 6/10. Even though we'd pre-ordered items they weren't correct and some were cold.
Highly recommend the nearby Barley Mow for dinner. Very good. I think it serves breakfast on some days too.
Overall it was fine for the price, and the small village is picture perfect. Just bring earplugs so guests coming and going to other rooms (all off the same small corridor) don't wake you.

Booked a deluxe single room and it was a substandard double. Not everyone would be happy with a double bed when booked single.
Instructions were to message if arriving after 4pm. I didn't know an exact arrival time, however they asked for my mobile and time again, so could provide self checkin, so gave estimated arrival and mobile, then they didn't respond.
On arrival it says ring both bells but nobody came for few minutes then sounded impatient as expected me to just walk in! Had to pre-book breakfast for both days at start. Told breakfast 8-9am, but still being set out at 8.15 on first day. Was not told how it worked so just had to work it out. Terrible hosting.
Scrambled eggs had brown flecks through it day 1 and was more like fried beaten up eggs on day 2 with dark brown base. Both days was only luke warm. On day 2 cooked food arrived before I'd hardly started my cereal.
I wasn't happy with my room either, very dusty, orange pips on the floor, a half drunk bottle bottle of drink in the bottle cooler, out of date UHT milk, no biscuits as shown in the photos, no mirror in the bathroom just fittings for one, shower head didn't fit in the holder properly and fell on me twice, shower temperature control did not work so too hot, (I tried turning it both ways!), extension socket from an extension sockets (how did that pass safety check?), one window had no closure and not a decent lock on door so concerned for my safety especially as all single glazed. Room scruffy
